Other top 10 programs beat teams like Tech by 50 or 40 plus every year. There’s no excuse
In the last 3 years they've lost by a point to Arkansas and South Carolina, lost in triple OT to Kansas State, and lost by 13 points (I think) to Texas Tech.

Maybe not 40-50 points but they lost 57-21 and 45-20 to State.
They’re a good program but that doesn’t mean LSU CAN’T put up 60 on them if they really tried. This whole being nice not running the score up shite is ridiculous. Score as much as possible period. It’s their job to stop us. Get our offense the reps they deserve.

Yeah they fumbled all game long and had a punt blocked near the endzone in both games. 37-7 isnt much better.

I went to this game. It was second game of the year I believe and Tech shot themselves in the foot a ton. I'm not saying it can't happen that LSU does the same thing, I'm just telling you that if Tech comes out executing and LSU doesn't that Tech is plenty good enough to win this game. This isnt a run out there and win like Southeastern.

This La Tech team has a pretty good defense

I'm an alumni
We are going to get our asses handed to us, I'll take it to keep LSU's magical season going.
I'm sure the payday is worth the beat down

LSU's front 7 is going to feast.

The last P5 team to beat Tech by 40 points or more was......................LSU in 2007

It's all gonna come down to Tech's QB play. If he can protect the ball, it will be respectable.

I'm taking Tech plus the points and the under. This seems like a classic letdown game against a decent opponent. LSU wins fairly easily but they wont cover.

Tech will have speed on defense to make up for size. The first two games they haven't shown much of the blitz packages they are rolling out this year, more of a TCU defense. They need to attack the LSU offense and not let them dictate the game. It is much a mold of the Manny Diaz defense in 2014 at Tech where we live and die with the pressure to create turnovers. The CB pair is tops in the conference and nearly top 15-20 in the nation, just not as known as the Tigers. The secondary as a whole is pretty good. Tech has a deep team this year and won't be worn down by many teams (though LSU may still have success here).
The offense is still figuring its bell out. JMar is going into his second season with a healed knee, so it is exciting to see him against some top competition. The oline is ok, road graters but not as great on pass pro. Multiple options in the oline as Tech can roll with 8 different guys. The WRs are three deep across. RBs 3-4 deep. Holtz has a history of wth play calling sometimes (who doesn't). There are athletes all around this team, just not as many "stars" stand out as everyone is pretty good.
Like some have said earlier, Holtz doesn't play up on P5 games but bowl games we shine. We were one of the least experienced teams last year in returning starts and it showed by how many 1 point losses we had. This year we bring a much more experienced team that can hopefully gut through the tough games. Overall, Holtz has kept this program on a winning attitude, one that we are proud of after the lame 03-09 seasons. After his first year in 2013, one with no depth and no talent, he has put together a string of 9 win seasons and got us above .500 last year with a younger, rebuilding team. I am hoping to see something on Saturday more of an '09 game.

Gotcha. So I think it’s a competitive quarter and a half or even a whole first half. Is that realistic?
Posted on 9/17/18 at 3:48 pm to OKTGR580
I expect LSU to have one or two explosive quarters of football to secure the win and look frustratingly uninspired the rest of the night, Tech covers anything over +24.
Posted on 9/17/18 at 7:33 pm to OKTGR580
I’d like to see it competitive into the 4th so let’s play a football game. The team has talent and depth, but maybe not to LSU’s level.

Just FYI, LSU is favored by 20

Oh yeah, none of my posting is saying Tech will win. Only that I hope for a more competitive game and giving reasons why it could.

Wow, finally a legit Tech fan weighs in. Couldn't have said it better myself. If you guys think this team is coming to collect a check and give LSU a good game, you are wrong. I'm not saying Tech will win, but they have the mentality that they will.

Yeah wasn't responding directly to you, you were just the last post and I had seen a few posts about the line
