I agree. But before I get too involved in the defensive metrics discussion I’ll need to know how those metrics viewed Jeter’s gold glove defense.

I know you were joking, but I was honestly curious, so looked it up.

DRS (defensive runs saved) and UZR/UZR 150 didn't really exist for the first part of his career, but from when they started in 2003 until he retired they had him as a poor fielder, due to his complete lack of range. He was worth negative 162 runs according to DRS from 2003-2014.
