Why didn't Sovereignty race in Preakness?
Because the owner and trainer knew that if they ran in all 3 races they wouldn't have a fresh horse for the rest of the summer races and the BCC. So they decided to skip the Preakness and have a fresh horse for the Belmont. Now they can go to the Haskell or Travers and then the BCC and the horse is not beat up at all.

Ok. So maybe not opting out. But similar thought process.
Load management is still pretty weak.

Cant blame them one bit for skipping the Preakness. They see the big picture. Horse is on top of his game now.

Yall are all retarded.
Belmont being at Saratoga results in a real triple crown not happening so Sovereignty’s owner focused on the horse not the fake crown this year
Ran a faster 1 and 1/4 today than all but 7 derbys
He’ll go win at Del Mar the first week of November

Exactly. It's not like Godolphin needs the money. Mott and the Shiekh are very patient. I kinda think Journalism may go back to California and rest up till the Pacific Classic. BTW, did Fierceness look sore or what? Typical Repole and Pletcher pile driving horses into the ground. Not sure as to why they picked that spot yesterday, when the Stephen Foster is two weeks away, and the horse could rate. Thats the definition of an impatient owner.

Nope you are 100% incorrect my boy.
I can tell you have never owned a race horse in your life
owned? No. Born and raised in KY and followed horse racing all my 65 yrs of life... yes.
Chance to be immortal and win the TC. Opt out so I can win the Travers... Give me a fricking break.
As for owners, after going 2-0 in the TC races I would be surprised if his stud syndicate even allows him to race again. How would you like to destroy this stud because some pace horse clips his foot and sends him to the dirt and breaks his leg.
Soverignty's closing strength will demand top stud money till he dies

That had absolutely nothing to do with why they didn't run him in the Preakness.

Bill Mott NEVER brings his horses back in two weeks. You should know that following for 65 years. Its not what he likes to do, because its the bigger picture that matters. That horse would've won for fun going another furlong. An absolute beast

Then cross his arse off the TC potential list.
Owners/Trainers been doing this for 100+ yrs but this guy knows better than everyone else?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say you have no clue how to manage a horse.
So many owners and trainers mis manage a horse its not even funny. You are probably in that categpry

I am going to guess you have never even ridden a horse outside of a merry go round. You probably learned your craft on DraftKings.
I have owned horses and have college credits in equine science. You act like this is a no brainer but people for over 100 yrs in the business know better.

Don't get mad because i called you out for not knowing how horse racing works especially at the highest level. You and the average Joe just want to run, run, run. You and the average Joe don't see the big picture and probably never will. The biggest ya'll mistake is that ya'll think you have to run in every race. Horses are not robots.

Look at his wins and earnings. I think the guy knows what he's doing. Up until a few years ago, he wasn't really getting horses in the Derby. Country House "won" on a BS inquiry, and never raced after that. He makes deals with owners for a % of stud fees. Thats why his horses can run past 3. Pletcher, and Baffert cant hold his boots. Let me pose the question. You honestly think Baffert ran AP and Justify clean? I sure don't. Would take Mott over 90% of the trainers out there 7 days a week. Maybe Shug, or Al Stall. Mott is true horseman, not a salesman
