I do wonder though, is the drastic change of pace from hitting against our own staff all preseason to then facing lower level arms play a role in this?
MHO is that all these batters have data on them now and opposing teams are changing up how they pitch them. Maybe one guy has trouble with a particular breaking ball, maybe another takes first strike every time, etc. This is not necessarily catastrophic but cools the bats some. Then there is always the fact that some players get in a slump and some get hot as firecracker
Pitching and batting is a never ending game of chess. Your move...

I think these two are joined at the hip. I was thinking yesterday that Iran needs a favorable military leader to step up to oust the religious govt and to keep the Taliban from moving west into Iran. Fortunately, Afghanistan is shooting with Pakistan right now.
It would not surprise me one bit if the US told the Pakistanis that now was the time to settle business with the Afghani's/Taliban

Yet that and a $5 dollar bill won’t even get you a cup of coffee in today’s economy. Even assuming yet another Middle Eastern regime change operation defies history and delivers what was promised, Trump’s fanboys would do well to remember that political winds can shift in an instant, especially in a down economy.
I agree with you but the only people saying this is a down economy is the Dems and their talking points. My daughter (pics on file) moved to NYC a couple yrs ago and all I hear is "affordability" crap. She lives there by choice and not by necessity. She complained that stuff was so expensive (yet she has been overseas on vacation 4 times in the last 16 months) but I told her that prices are what they are because people are paying them. If people could not pay them then prices would come down.
I had the dishonor of working for a Charles Koch company and even though I did not like it or him he did have some financial wisdoms. One of which is "the value of something is what people are willing to pay for it... not what you think it is or what you have invested in it."

Yeah, I would have expected something in the 4.2's based on the info on this board like you said. There were people saying that he was the fastest man on the team... one with Jalani Watkins on it who had a 10.01 100M time last season.

Nobody watches or cares about college baseball or gymnastics on a national "it helps the brand level". And the impact of girl's basketball is way overblown due to a media agenda and a once in a lifetime great white hope from Iowa, IMO.
I agree with this to a large extent.

The only 2 sports that bring a lot of notoriety to your school by being elite are football and men's basketball. They are the only 2 with BILLION dollar TV contracts.
The networks put their money into sports with an ROI, and they're heavily invested in the 2 college sports that move the needle. LSU would be wise to do the same.
The point I was making is that LSU makes the same amount of SEC rev share whether they are 1st or last due to the TV contracts. So how much revenue do you reap from spending $15 mil or $30 mil on MBB. Answer is not $15 mil +. The only gain LSU gets is differential ticket sales (MBB tix are not a lot like FB) and more merchandise for a better team performance (I have no idea what that number could be).
UK spent $22 mil on this yrs roster and they are floundering in the middle of the pack. How many more fans did they draw? none, they are sold out every game anyway. They did it because they want to win MBB championships, they suck at most everything else.
LSU FB spent what they did this yr because of the same reason. They could have spent half of what they spent and got an improved product but not a champion.

First of all, the cost of a revamp for basketball is probably 1/3 of the cost for football. Also, McMahon and his entire staff are almost guaranteed to be employed SOMEWHERE next year, lowering the cost further. Possibly to 1/4 of the football cost. Those guys are way too young to pull a BK.
Not a defense of the football over basketball arguement but FB brings in 80% of the net revenue to the athletic dept. So if BB revamp costs 1/3 or 1/4 of FB revamp then it is a worse proposition than FB was.
Now the sane arguement, absoluetly LSU needs to clean house in MBB but the question is how high are you going to shoot? The moon? There are programs out there that are "MBB first" at their institution and they will set the bar for what it costs to be relevent. So will LSU pull together a financial package to attrract a top tier coach AND players? The hard truth is that because of SEC revenue sharing we are not losing an extraordinary amount of cash. We are losing the value of the Brand but LSU is propped up by FB, Baseball, WBB, & Gym. So it will be a hard decision for Verge and Rousse to make.
I dont see how LSU can go on with the situation as it is and if the mega-money donors pony up the the sky is the limit. I will add that they put up more money than I ever expected for FB...

Report it to the Sheriff/DA/AG if the contractor has not fled the state. Buddy of mine had a similar issue where he paid a contractor up front to do storm restoration (tree went through house and it was a major loss). Contractor dragged his feet and did not finish the work and eventually left the state. My buddy is personal friends with the Sheriff and he told him if he was in state he would catch him and throw him in jail but he had no jurisdiction out of state.
Interesting side story, the contractor also 100% stiffed some Mexican roofers. When they found out where the dude was their response was "we dont need no lawman to get our money..."
Long story short my buddy never got his money back (~$150K) so dont let them out of sight without filing charges on them.

Proving it. If they name someone and cant substantiate the accusation in court then they will be sued into oblivion. If some of these cases progress and witnesses start bargaining then this might gain critical mass.

It’s easier to blame pitching because up to this point, the hitting has been stellar and the pitch has been average. It is what it is. They’ll get better and half the guys you saw won’t pitch meaningful innings this year
This is audition part of the season for pitchers. Fans on here expect Jay to roll out Bob Gipson every day and then magically in the latter part of the season bring in relief pitching with little to no work and expect them to do the job...

You have one thing in your favor. If he is not top level D1 talent or size then the smaller schools are in a 9 line bind for players with the transfer portal essentially stripping them of players ever season.
