I’m of the opinion that the companies damage infrastructure, use police and fire services, and employees send their kids to the schools that those property taxes are voted on to support. They’re using resources they aren’t paying for.

The breaks are not for ever. When Riverbend nuclear power plant exemptions expired West Feliciana Parish could barely spend all the money. New schools, new govt buildings, new police cars and fire trucks… Now with a data center coming in they are looking at rebating property taxes.

Finding it hard to see the freeloading.

Motor/powertrain is warrantied for 10yr/100K. Should be their problem. I already have over 26K on mine.

Ford F150 or GMC Sierra 1500?

Light use. Just hauling bikes and ice chests and household stuff. Some 4wd.

Any opinions appreciated.

I bought a 25 Silverado High Country in Jan 25 and at the time they beat the pants off Ford on the deal. I got the HC trim with a 3.0L Diesel Duromax for less than a F150 Lariat with the 3.2L Ecoboost. The Duromax gets 31 mpg on highway and about 23 around town.

Also I tried to get Ford dealer to throw in 3yrs of BlueCruise and they balked completely saying they dont have control over that. BlueCruise is $50/month from Ford. The Silverado HC came with 3yrs of OnStar included with includes SuperCruise. I assume this applies similarly to the GMC Denali trim.

I had two F150's prior to this truck that I kept each 11 yrs. The change was very welcome.

I probably would have bought the Lariat though if they made a better deal.
I am sorry but that is not the kind of memes that I see on PT and OT

We were minesweeping the Strait and blockading Iranian ports. I am not sure how the Iranians have any control over the Strait other than threat right now.

Are they saying they are losing revenue because we grant tax breaks to data centers or that we are actively spending money?

They have to be spinning the numbers pretty bad like looking at the income without tax breaks and with. It is hard to figure out how a $10 billion investment loses more money than an empty corn field...

Where is the actual loss?

He brought up a point I have been pondering regarding Iran's obvious fear of its citizens. At what point do we start arming the collaborators inside Iran or do we at all? Are we doing it now?

I can see both sides of this from our perspective. Arming the citizenry can minimize our boots on the ground. On the other hand many of these groups will likely screw us in the butt when we need them and could likely use those weapons against us down the road.

Very few players have committed elsewhere on any team. I do understand that it is concerning when the basket is empty. Had this feeling when Lane started recruiting.

Haven is good but the big hype on him is the "higher ceiling" due to his physicals.

Someone on the OT mentioned yesterday the xAI was just gaming the system by using portable diesel generators they could move once a year to avoid environmental regs.

There again people talking about stuff they know nothing about. I have had to use large diesel generators on jobs. Diesel power generation is so expensive it is not sustainable long term. Probably 10x the cost of line power and prone to low reliability. You cant sustain a business using large amounts of power on diesel power.

Gas turbines are a viable option but also expensive if you dont utilize the waste heat.

If someone was running gad turbines without required env permits it is no problem for that state to issue a cease and desist order

A data center should not be a potential death sentence for a community’s health,” said Abre’ Conner, NAACP director of environmental and climate justice. “By looking to evade clean air laws to operate dirty turbines that emit pollution and known carcinogens, these companies are following a shameful, familiar pattern: asking Black and frontline communities to bear the toxic brunt of ‘innovation.’”

These people have no idea what a gas turbine is. I bet they dont complain when those gas tubines kick on in peak demand to keep their AC units running on those 100 deg Memphis summer days…

I would also believe that X is not operating those turbines but some Public Utility is that has permits… just guessing on my part on this point.

This just isn’t true. I’m not a Moscona fan at all, but saying stuff like this is just dumb.

People on here just like to say shite. I dont follow Moscona too much because I dont have much trust in any media and sports talk radio is 5% substance and 95% self gratification. However, he should have some inside info as he is on LSU Gameday media and Gordy Rush is his boss at least to some degree.

He does however get out over his skis a lot with his "inside info"

Unfortunately Pearson is a league top 10 guy here. I give 3rd basemen a little slack but not that much.

yrs ago I went to a game and Bregman made an error at short I believe. by the time I got home there was already social media post on him after the game taking one hop liners to the chest over and over from a coach. I dont see these guys with that level of determination.

That is kind of what I got out of it. You have to have some leaders that competing at that individual level like Brown and Curiel. Beyond that we drop of
