No doubt the 93 Haynesville team. They won 2A that year but also beat West Monroe 35-14 and WM won 5A that year. Also beat Evangel 63-0 and they won 1A that year. That team was unbelievable.

WM vs Haynesville game, WM won 21-7 against the highly touted Tornados who came into the game with a 39 regular season winning streak. It was in this game that WM FB Alfonzo Bell left the game with injured collarbone and Tommy Banks came in and ran for 11 times, gaining 62 yds and scoring one TD.

1990 Ruston
1998 West Monroe
1999 Evangel
2007 Destrehan

2006 Bastrop
2006 John Curtis
the 2006 Bastrop team had:
Ole Miss caliber QB
WRs that committed to LSU
a DL with kids that committed to LSU, LSU, and Mich
thats just some of the talent they had
2006 JC had
a USC RB
a Kentucky LB
Arizona St DT
Alabama Corner
and a Nebraska Safety
both teams had plenty of small college players
Curtis beat the #1 team in the country handily that year too

Curtis probably sent a couple to ULL or ULM too
that was just the big ones I can remember
I never saw Miami NW play but I didnt see JC play multiple times and against the #1 team and totally dismantle them
bottom line is, Curtis had plenty of talent and one of the best coaches in the country

my vote goes to 2000 West Monroe.. among others, they beat:
John Curtis (25-7) - eventual 4A State Champ
Midland Lee (36-8) - eventual Texas 5A Champ
Clarksdale(MS) (35-7) - eventual Miss 4A Champ
Moss Point(MS) (28-23) - eventual Miss 5A Champ
they only allowed 14 points total in the 5A playoffs..

It was the 94 Haynesville team that beat West Monroe and Evangel in the same year. Undefeated and state champs. Beat Loyola of Shreveport in the Dome 51-3.

yea.. i think i remember Haynesville beating WM 16-14, or 16-0.. that WM team, while good, ended up finishing 3-7 after having to forfeit several games i believe.. and Haynesville pretty much owned Evangel for about the first 5-6 years of ECAs football team..

00 WM was sick...best season in WM history. Still think I would give nod to 98 WM. I dont think any team could have beaten either of those teams. I would say 99 Evangel next.

How did they even put that schedule together?
Posted on 12/5/09 at 12:12 pm to PiscesTiger
