you will do the same about wisconsin. they got there best player back for there las couple of games and have been hot lately. heres something i found about Your 3 seed and 7 seed.
4th team in the conference? Standings don't mean much considering UW had an injury to their best player. They lost him for 9 games and lost 3 games....sound familiar..oh yeah, Ohio St. had a similar injury and is considered a 2 seed. Also, Michigan State never even played at OSU, so the unbalanced schedule makes the standings less important. Look at these 2 profiles for just a second. UW's resume is at least 1 seed line better than Michigan State. How can you look at these numbers and even say that Michigan is close to wisconsin, not to mention the committee will throw away wisconsins loss at home to Illinois since their real team (healthy) won at Illinois by 15 and has another chance to beat them on a neutral court.
Michigan State
Overall: 24-7
RPI: 25
SOS: 48
Notable Wins: #13 Wisconsin, at #7 Purdue
Key Losses (RPI 125+): none
vs. RPI Top 25: 2-2
vs. RPI 26-50: 1-2
vs. RPI 51-75: 2-1
vs. RPI 76-100: 3-2
vs. RPI 101-150: 4-0
vs. RPI 151-200: 7-0
vs. RPI 201+: 5-0
Road/Neutral: 9-5
KenPom: 24
Sagarin: 25
Wisconsin
Overall: 23-7
RPI: 16
SOS: 27
Notable Wins: (Neutral) #4 Duke, #5 Ohio State, #6 Purdue, #11 Michigan State, (Neutral) #19 Maryland
Key Losses (RPI 125+): none
vs. RPI Top 25: 4-2
vs. RPI 26-50: 1-2
vs. RPI 51-75: 2-0
vs. RPI 76-100: 2-2

vs. RPI 151-200: 3-0
vs. RPI 201+: 6-0

Hey Auburn/Wisconsin hybrid fan, make your own brackets since you're such an expert. I am doing this for fun and do it every year. I look at the conference tourneys and have to play out scenarios as to where I rank teams. FWIW, I believe Michigan State or Ohio State will win the big 10t...not like Sparty is a slouch. Izzo might be a good coach.
I can't be on point on all of them and believe it or not, I don't have as much time to fully "research" the whole thing. Working, getting laid, going out to eat, spending time with family are higher priorities than a mock tourney.
If the Badgers win vs. Illini, they will be bumped. But right now, I like Sparty to be a well-coached team and do some damage. Meanwhile, Illinois is in do or die territory and I think they win...I have always been one to believe that a team has trouble beating another team twice in a couple of days.
This is all for fun. I would just like to be right on a few.

yeah i guess i took it to personally

Look at Michigan State's positioning in the bracket. They are gonna get winner of PSU/Minn and win that one. Then, they likely play Purdue, who I think they'll beat. The top half of that bracket is the tougher one. I think it sets up well for Sparty and if they win the Big X tourney, would you argue them as a 3 seed come selection Sunday?

It's all good, badgers. I guess I take more heat than I get props. I am no expert...just like doing this. KInd of like that guy who throws the lame party but does it every year and expects people to show. If Wisc wins the entire Big 10 tourney, I'd put them in at a 2.

Posted on 3/10/10 at 11:11 pm to PiscesTiger
i hope we can win. because we need to get a 2 seed in tourney because we need to make a run this year. I can actually see you lack of faith in Wisc because they always have a great regular season but never get anywhere in the tourney. but i believe this year is different with the depth we have.

Hey Badgers, I will let you in on a little clue as to why I discriminate vs. The Badgers:
2000 Sweet 16. Look no further. Maybe its me with the personal vendetta.
Good pull on the Sparty vs. Wiscy stats. I will give it to you. But you're right, Ryan's teams haven't done well as the favorite. I took notice of that...same thing for Ohio State last year.
Tomorrow, I am sure my bracket will have to be rearranged again. I was surely certain back in Jan that Illinois was gonna be the team that caught fire. They win tomorrow and they're likely in the Dance. We shall see.

Also, let's pretend that Wiscy ends up where I have them. Notre Dame is a tough, but winnable first round game and then they draw New Mexico...a team that might implode under the pressure, considering Alford is their coach and the aren't used to the major spotlight. I think Wiscy has an excellent shot, in that bracket, of getting to Sweet 16 and if I am a Badger fan, I kind of like where I have them. New Mexico ain't Kansas.

Me too. LSU was superior to that Badger team in every way imaginable except...coaching. We played right into their hand that night.

I would love it if Memphis won the C-USA tournament. It could very well happen. They play today at noon. I probably won't get back to work until 2:30. Coach Pastner would seriously have to be looked at as coach of the year if they win C-USA and get an auto bid.
