Whatever man. The only reason we ever had the lead is because Brazil came out flat.
In the second half you saw what happens when Brazil plays their best. They possess the ball, we spend all our energy trying to get it. Our only attack comes from the counter.
After two great goals, we started playing like we usually do on offense...without creativity.

well... im not happy... but the Spain game could have went the same way.. we just dont seem capable of slowing teams down when they press us.. Tim saved the Spain match.. wasnt able to do it here..

bullshite....we earned those goals regardless if Brazil was awake or not.
I'm not saying we didn't earn them. But Brazil wasn't playing well. You all know that is true. shite.

Oh really??? Because I don't see people beating the doors down to become the head coach of Team USA...
I am not exactly a fan of Bradley myself, but he is our coach and USA soccer has not had this much attention in quite a while- good attention that is...

The good news is we played outstanding in the first half and could have easily won this thing. Very promising for the future, and hopefully we can build on this heading into next summer.
The thing that sucks is we played outstanding in the first half and could have easily won this thing.

Someone who wouldn't take our 2nd best player out with 5 minutes left in the game and down by a goal

exactly. If you were to tell me we'd beat Spain and go to the wire with Brazil in the finals i'd laugh.Good showing overall, it's just teams like Brazil wear down our midfield so much with their style of play. Bradley needs to make the right adjustments after half time and today he didn't do that.

Exactly. Catching a team by surprise and then digging in for a 1 or 2 goal victory is a terrible strategy. The Spain game could have been the same.

Bob Bradley just regressed like a motherfricker at halftime. Doesn't have the necessary cool with a title in view.

what the frick does it matter if Brazil wasnt playing well? They were pressing in the first 10 minutes of the game. They were on the field. They played the f'ing game just like we did. Who cares? We scored and they didnt. Then we curled up like a rolley polley and Brazil scored 3 on us.

Meh, maybe Brazil changes their tactics toward the end when they have the lead and don't get a 4th, who knows.

Admirable effort by the team, you can't really fault individuals in this one. Brazil earned their goals, as did we.
Bradley isn't the answer, and its obvious we can run with the top soccer teams in the world.
I agree entirely. I can't blame the US for their effort in the second half. There were some good counterattacking opportunities, but Charlies Davies has an awful touch on the ball, and he is good for nothing but pace.
Brazil is different than any team in the world (except Argentina when they are really clicking). They can score 3 goals quicker than just about any other team in the world. The US is lucky that Dunga's line-up selection is even worse than Bradley's. In a country full of dangerous players, Dunga created a line-up with 4 guys who are a threat to the US defense. In the second half, he made some nice substitutions with Alves and Elano. Alves sucked today, but we saw what Elano did.
Bradley's second half substitutions were an abomination. Casey, Bornstein, and Kljestan are never going to be more than MLS quality guys. They are the kind of players that should have been reserves for the '98 World Cup team, not guys playing considerable minutes (and even starting) against Brazil and Italy.
With the right substitutions, the US could have done well in the second half. I think Feilhaber and one of the strikers had to go, but Torres and Adu would have been worthy subs. Due to the unique situation with our depleted full backs, I guess I see why Bornstein was considered, but Bradley did a poor job with his subs.

Because then they woke up, played Brazil futbol, and won the second half 3-0.

No....Brazil started playing. They possessed the ball. The outpaced us. The made us work for the little amount of time we did possess the ball. We got frantic on offense. We wore down. They won.
This is they way Brazil plays and once they started playing that way, they won. This is the point.
The US played valiantly, but we did not "choke" or "roll over."
Rather, we simply caught this elite team by surprise, and couldn't keep up with them once they started playing their best.
No shame for the US team. They are simply better.

that early goal in the first half really did kill us.. as Bradley is saying now.. Brazil was really frustrated up to then and making mistakes..
Posted on 6/28/09 at 3:33 pm to Keys Open Doors
Brazil was forcefeeding us our own shite, so instead of subbing on players that can keep the ball, he puts on two guys who are gonna kick it and run.
