My mom has two Miss State degrees. She drove back and forth 60 miles each way from Kosciusko to Starkville. In junior high we were in the same district, or conference, as Starkville, Philadelphia, Louisville, Eupora and Ackerman. It was a little over a decade before Marcus Dupree played on all of those fields. When you see the 30for30 "The Best that Never Was", think about my 5'8" 155 lbs. slow white butt getting run over on those hallowed fields. When I was watching it I think I saw my ghost out there.
