Okafor has taken 294 more shots over the last 3 years than Chandler.
He clearly is asked to shoulder more of the offense than Chandler.
His FG% however over the same span is 47% compared to 56% for Chandler.

I guess I'm just surprised that the Bobcats would sign him to such a large deal, and then rather inexplicably lose interest in him. Or have there been other Okafor deal rumors that I missed?
i dont know. im just wondering if they realized that it was a terrible deal in the first place
i love their core, and i really dont see why they suck
felton
j-rich
wallace
okafor
need one more big (diaw will have to play though with his salary)
but like i said, they have 30 mill a year in wallace, diaw, okafor tied up per year
they will have to pay richardson too

this is indicative of how good david west is and how bad tyson chandler is

no, its not, bc we would continue to lose games for the same reason we have since these stupid arse contracts were inked
NO BENCH.
i'm not talking about us losing games because of the bench. people are still going to want Peja's contract.
and as of now, ON PAPER, i think the bench is serviceable as opposed to last year when it was completely dreadful, assuming they can get a decent backup PF

Ron Mexico
And dont forget that they have DJ Augustin as well who is a very good player imo.

To be fair, Chandler's "shot attempts" are dunks and putbacks.

Totally agree. Never understood either. I don't think Okafor is a world-beater, and obviously there's some risk with his back problems, although it doesn't seem like a HUGE risk (like Peja's). $14M is a lot at the back end, but what do you think he is worth anyway?

WOW, i had no idea it was that many
i guess what i should have said in my first statement was
okafor is a bigger option to charlotte RELATIVE to chandler to new orleans

CP3/Mo-pete/Peja/DWest/Okafor would be a bit better rebounding and defensively than the same lineup with Chandler
but damn that is a LOT of money to tie up in a 14pt/10reb player

i still cant believe charlotte signed him to this deal
well, it's MJ. he traded an expiring deal for Nazr when it was quite obvious Nazr sucked and Dumars regretted picking him up in FA. then he traded for Diop.

who, thornton?
dude our bench was trash this past year and the second reason why we sucked
Posted on 7/27/09 at 4:37 pm to kfizzle85
if you think about, most of the Hornets problems last year were due to having no center in there. They were 26th in rebounding, at the bottom of defense in the paint, etc. With Okafor these problems are solved for the most part. With an improved bench the Hornets could vault to a top 3 seed again.

You don't think there's any chance he can improve those numbers? Shouldn't he be in his prime over the next 3-5 years?

If we could get any kind of scoring from our bench I'd be much happier.
