Still our best player? Reyna was a much better footballer through 2006.... when the chips are down Donovan has done jack... but unleash him against Bermuda....

Is that the same Reyna that gift wrapped the goal for Ghana in the WC?

When the chips are down our entire team has not done jack.

donovan is probably the most overhyped athlete in american sports. i've sat and watched him do literally nothing for the better part of the last decade...and he's still labeled as "the best american soccer player in the world"

John O'Brien was the best player in the U.S. for a long time. Dude was 19 starting for Ajax. Even Donovan said he was the best. If not for injuries, his career would be a lot more heralded.

Oh you mean the 1 goal he scored in a 3-1 loss? Or how about the second goal in a 2-0 win against Mexico, a team in which he was the most familiar with?

Can somebody explain to me how the qualifying for the World Cup works? I'm sure there are group stages and stuff and that it is not that hard to qualify, but I don't really know how it works. Can somebody explain it or post a link please?

(And I now have more posts than Barry Bonds has homeruns)

Nah - they just got everyone to aim their headlights at the pitch when they came to the game.

ETA: Mexico ties it at 1 in the 75th minute.
