The only international law the USA is still enforcing is maritime. Remember Serbia? That’s what used to happen when people broke international law.
You realize that I am not objecting to the notion that there is no such thing as international law. International relations and geopolitics is anarchic, and attempts to put order on it at the very least give the people writing the rules, in this case the US, leeway to break them when they need to.
quote:
It’s literally just a fantasy at this point because we enforce the sea which we can stop at anytime and we can enforce will unchallenged on anything we want to do. This means a piece of paper with words on it useless. It’s only worth what we choose to make it worth
What?
Okay, you realize that I am objecting to the notion that you can profess realpolitik and in the same post suggest we punish a vassal state for some illusory reasons. That is not a scenario of realpolitik.
quote:
How did they “win”
Because the North Vietnamese's political objectives were met.
quote:
To say we lost it you’d have to say we lost the Korean War.
No. Different conflicts have different objectives. It was, at the minimum, indecisive, because neither side was able to meet their objectives, at least the ones that the US and the SK had during the middle period of the war.
quote:
Real Politik is back. All that matters is hard power because international law is a fantasy when the USA doesn’t enforce it, which we aren’t really more and more as time goes on.
This is absolutely idiotic.
quote:
We are seeing the formalization of the American empire even if we don’t call it that outright it’s what it is. A vassals job isn’t to act like an equal, equality is a bullshite nonsense idea, it’s to shut the frick up and support us while they take the yearly cash injections and enjoy our military protection.
We need to make a massive lesson out of Canada
This is even more stupid. If you profess the world operates by realpolitik, then you should realize what the consequences of an action are before you embark on them.

Or we could just avoid foreign entanglements like some old white dude suggested.
The US has not avoided any foreign entanglements in its early history. It wasn’t some isolationist state. It was an actively expanding state. Not only that, Monroe laid out the foreign policy aspirations of the US so clearly that the US actively pursued that policy since it was announced.

Do we really need NATO? Russia has survived for this long without the Warsaw Pact. Let NATO dissolve and the U.S. can enter defense agreements on a nation-by-nation bases. I'm sure Eastern Europe, Italy, and maybe the UK would still love to let us have bases on their soil. Screw the French, Germans, Belgians, Dutch, and Danes.
That is genuinely idiotic.

Reporting performance isn't the same as coercing patient behavior.
Your version of clinical practice is divorced from reality. It's a fiction which is pretty much impossible to have someone else disabuse.

Do GPs get incentives for treating tennis elbow? Or testing hormone levels? Diagnosing UTIs?
Another disingenuous question. You can have a contract that incentivizes preventative health measures, of which immunization status is a part of, if, for example, a practice uses something like the Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set as a performance enhancement tool.
Whether you like it or not, immunizations are part and parcel of a cogent preventative health approach. That some physicians accept contracts which might use value-based models isn't really meaningful to anything.

It’s crazy how many posters here think that most doctors are just getting these random Big Pharma direct deposits every two weeks
I like flirting with the cute pharma reps and I also like it when they give us lunch.

They DO get incentives for higher vaccination compliance rates.
Is there any aspect of medicine you don't seem to try to intentionally misunderstand?

Hey thanks for that link. Going to watch when I get home later.

And didnt post a single source or link.
Yeah I'm on my phone so that's a pain in the arse. It's all out there though.

I have a definitive say, you can quote me.
The Islamic regime of Iran as it exists today (for the next 30min or so) will never achieve a nuclear weapon.
Cool, I was just relaying the information (as you yourself asked) to people who don't follow ME geopolitics.
quote:
Do you have a source for this information? Because we havent heard about Iran's nuclear program since the strikes. Id say thats because their nuclear program no longer exists.
The source was satellite imagery from before the strike which showed cargo trucks at 3 of their enrichment sites, if I recall. There was a US intel report that stated that Iran moved most of its uranium stockpile before Midnight Hammer as well. Iran has refused the IAEA to show its stocks of 60% enriched uranium, which the IAEA estimated was at 440 kilograms before the war. The IAEA, using satellite images, has seen movement around the sites too. No one has a definitive answer though.
It is probably the case that the entire program was severely hamstrung by the strikes, but assessing to what degree and to what part is hard to say. There were strikes against missile sites and airports as well, but I don't think all 30 sites linked to Iran's nuclear program were hit during that operation in June.

Did you hear anything about Iran for 6 months?
I mean, yes, I did because I follow geopolitics. That still doesn't answer the main question about their nuclear capabilities. Around a year ago, the evidence suggested that Iran had enough enriched uranium for up to 10 weapons.
I don't think Fordow showed that sort of damage. Natanz did though.
quote:
Wasn't this the line when we struck their nuclear facilities? How did that turn about?
Do we know definitively the result of that strike?

I suspect that nothing in my education will convince you to stop taking really idiotic positions though. Good talk.

Eh, Douglas Macgregor isn't a great source if we are to go by his Ukraine prognostications.
Also, which son?

Are you? Are you a doctor or are you a scientist? Are you specialized in vaccinology? That's like asking the oil change guy about my vehicle's software problem. Or the doc-in-a-box to fill my tooth.
Yes, I am exceedingly well-educated on topics as they relate to human immune function as well as diseases from insults to the human immune system.
