That is pretty nice. I guess after seeing guys like Wallace dominate in AAA and flake out of the bigs, it's hard to get pumped up about farm league stats.

Hopefully Wallace is the exception.

I'm sure Porter/Lunhow are thinking about it. I think another month wouldn't kill him. I know we're embarrassing ourselves with the team we're fielding right now, but rushing a stud prospect like Cosart doesn't make sense even if he's successful. What's an extra 5-10 wins if we still lose 100+?

If this team's mascot isn't "The DJ's" there is something very very wrong.

Those type of guys usually are.....

There are plenty of career minor leaguers. Wallace is one of them.

Yeah. What is the success rate of picking up another team's former top prospects and them ACTUALLY turning things around?

Hasn't happened with Wallace, Carter, F Mart, etc.

Sounds like our front office needs to rethink that strategy.

No.... I think it is going good, draft and trade for young prospects while mixing in guys that could impact your major league club. Let’s not pretend other teams do not take chances on change of scenery guys. It is just more noticeable with the astros because uncle D and friends ran everything in the ground so hard before riding off into the sun set. That when those guys come over and suck everyone gets all pissy.

Not sure, starting to look like Ed Wade at least damaged the Phillies farm system while he was here.

Harrell (Trade) Producing
Bedard (Waivers)Moved to Bullpen
Humber (Waivers)about to get the axe
Veras (Trade) Can't save a game to save his life
Pena (Free Agent) Struggling
Ankiel (Free Agent) DFA
Carter (Trade) Struggling
F Mart (Waivers) DFA
Maxwell (Waivers) DL
X. Cedeno (Rule 5) DFA
Fields (Rule 5) DL
White (Trade)DL

That's one guy out of 12 that is actually performing. Yet 6 remain on the active roster.

I'm not saying the strategy needs to change, but the way that we are picking these guys needs to be adjusted.

The guys we picked up off of waivers and free agency are/were band aides/spot holders for the real talent we traded for that are down in the farm system.

With that being said, I guess you could say we whiffed on Veras, but not Carter. We all knew what we were getting with Carter, a subpar LF with a powerful bat that strikes out a lot.

I still love the plan. Alot of Houston fans hate it and can't see what they're doing long term, but to each their own. You CAN NOT win NOW and that's what fans expect. Tough break. But to have a better and more consistent organization later, you HAVE to be terrible right now.

Go read the Houston blogs. It's CRAZY the people blaming all of this on Crane and Luhnow. It's CRAZY. All of these terrible seasons we're looking at now are DIRECTLY on the shoulders of Uncle Drayton.

Not sure if you guys have seen this.....

No one cares about Brett Wallace We all know he's a career minor leaguer

Prom, come on now. You know that I'm not actually angered by what the front office is doing. Hell, my sig line for a long long time was "In Luhnow I Trust".

We're talking strictly about the moves made for the MLB club. I'm not suggesting that we rush any prospects up to the bigs right now at all.

I am been avoiding this thread because of how depressed they make me. Can we just play seattle every week?

Don't forget our buddy Timmy P. I know he was just following Uncle Drayton's orders. I still like to blame him, too.

I understand. But the fact remains....why spend money on big money guys when all they're going to do is cost the team money, become complacent and the club STILL ends up in last place?

I can see how it looks like the owners and front office do not care. But I understand what they're doing. ....and they're doing it right! It would be nice to have a little more fun keeping up with them, but this year....it is what it is....I've accepted that and I am thoroughly looking forward to the future.
