Verlander will get lit up in Yankee stadium.
There's one factor at play here that may prevent that from happening, and it's what's hanging between my legs.

This likely only applies to me in this thread, but with the rainout, this game will be on FS1 on Friday, when OSU was supposed to be playing NW. That game will now be in B1G network for anyone else who may care and want to watch CFB as well
I'm probably gonna pass on that

I agree, the postgame celebration after clinching will be epic

The correct statement is the Yankees have to take the next two in the Bronx to send it back to Houston, but they don't need to.

Astros are making a huge mistake with this pitching. If the Astros lose Game 4 and 5 pitching Greinke and Verlander, they are screwed. Who pitches in Game 6? Cole on short rest..then you have no one in Game 7. Uriquidy should start either Game 4 or 5.
I agree. I think you should only pitch Verlander in game 5 IF you win game 4.
You're setting it up for a potential Urquidy start in a must-win game 6.
And I don't think pitching Cole on short rest is a good idea either if you're down 3-2, because you still have to win both games.
Of course, they might just go out and win both games and then it's pure genius. And if you're up 3-2 then I feel a lot better about Urquidy in game 6. Win it, great, Cole can pitch game 1 of the WS. Lose it and you still have Cole for game 7.

Dude has 13 k's through the post season so far. Power means nothing if you swing through the ball.

what other option do we got at DH?

Nothing better.
Aledmys maybe, but then you are ruining a lot of flexibility later in the game.
Tucker, but do you really want Tucker and Reddick in the same lineup?
Obviously Marisnick isn't going to DH, and you aren't going to use your backup C.
I think it's just going to be Yordan boom or bust at this point.

Yeah I get Jake is good defensively but the upside you get is fairly minimal compared to what happens if Yordan can figure it out. Jake is a guaranteed complete zero at the plate in these games.

Yordan will run into one and it will be glorious

If Reddick can, Yordan can.

Split the next two games, and even if you lose the bullpen game (Game 6), you have Cole going in Game 7.

That is the issue, if they lose the next two, they have to turn to Cole in game 6. Would that make 7 a bullpen game or would you trust Greinke/Verlander going on short rest?
Haven't read the thread but I assume this has been discussed and it is the mentality that you don't let it get to game 7
