Holland, who would have been arbitration eligible for the final time this winter and came with a projected $11.3MM price tag, will enter the free-agent pool.
It’s been known for quite some time that the Royals would non-tender Holland, who underwent Tommy John surgery earlier this year and missed the end of the season. Kansas City has expressed interest in working out a two-year contract that would allow the team to retain Holland, who was among the most dominant pitchers in baseball when healthy. Any contract would, of course, backload most of the salary into the second year of the deal, as Holland will almost certainly not take the mound in 2016 as he recovers from the operation.

Pirates DFA'd Pedro Alvarez.
Corner infielder? Check.
Low average? Career .236 Check.
Hits home runs? 27 in 2015. 36 a few years ago. Check
Strikes out a ton? Check. NL leading 182 in 2013
Dude slides right on into our lineup!

Dancing bananas! Bye Carter.
Also, I wouldn't be against signing Cishek. He was pretty good for 3 or 4 years in a row then struggled the first part of last season before going to the Cards. Once he got there though, he had a sub 2.5 era in 20-30 innings or so. Think he finished with a 3.5 era last year after that horrible start. I wouldn't want to sign him as a closer or anything, but not many RPs out there have his track record. There are worst guys out there that we can take a chance on

Yeah I definitely wouldn't be thrilled if he was our biggest bullpen move but I wouldn't mind him filling in Qualls role
Who the hell will be our LOOGY?

I wish him the best. From all reports Carter is a great guy. Hope he catches on somewhere else.

Someone help me out I have a general idea but i dont want to sound dumb. What does it exactly mean for carter to be non-tendered

Arbitration eligible player is not offered a contract by his team and then becomes a free agent.
Posted on 12/2/15 at 11:17 pm to Lsuhoohoo
Sweet. I wasn't aware Carter was arb eligible

He was projected to get around $5.6 million through arbitration.

Lol we were a few outs away from the ALCS with a starting first baseman who wasn't even worth giving arbitration. Let that sink in.
I didn't despise Carter as much as most but he did make my head really hurt at times with his at bats, or lack thereof.
