I mean I'd maybe rather send fricking Altuve and keep a few of them. Put Marwin at 2b
That's literally the future of the organization behind Correa they're asking for

frick that.
That'd be going against what this rebuild has been all about since ot was blown up. Trade everything you've put together for a solid future and trade them all away for a 22 year old with a douchebag attitude.
No thanks. We'd be right back losing 100 games a year.

They won't give up their #2 pick, their best out field prospect and more for one player who is being shopped because of an attitude. If it was kershaw I would understand but Fernandez just came off of TJ too

So Aroldis Chapman really doesn't want to be traded

Dan Straily for Chapman straight up.

He's not going to give away our future, I wonder if he regrets the Gomez trade

Domingo Santana was arguably more productive for the Brewers than Gomez was for the Astros.
Gomez: 41 games .242 .288 OBP 9 doubles 4HR 13RBI 10SB
Santana: 38 games .231 .345 OBP 5 doubles 6HR 18RBI
Gomez certainly wasn't a huge difference maker down the stretch. Now, given a healthy Gomez in 2016 we're better off than having Santana but the verdict is still out on that trade.

I wasn't even worried about losing Santana, losing Philips hurt. They basically got a much younger version of Gomez who is about a year away from making his debut. That was a great trade for the Brewers but like you said, the verdict is still out on the whole thing

That trade also netted us Fiers who performed well for us, is team controlled through 2020 and is a solid mid to back end of the rotation guy so he's worth mentioning.
As you said on Phillips, he's a year or so away from his debut. IF Gomez plays up to his potential (I'll give him that the injury likely killed his production) we're better off with him in 2016 than waiting for Phillips in 2017.

I liked Phillips but he has 33 home runs in 1200 minor league at bats, many of which came in the ultimate minor league launching pad. He was and is a solid prospect but there is no guarantee he's going to pan out. Trades like that will always be judged 5 years or so after they are made but I still think it was the right move at the time
Also frick that Fernandez trade. It's weird they seem to be shopping him so hard though

Mav won't pan out more than a poor man's Gardner with less SBs.
I'm not worried about that trade.
