How does the timetable work for that? Can he be taken off whenever or will the 15 days begin on opening day?

I agree with you. Marwin had the 8th most ABs on the team last year. He's a lot more than just a bench player, he's basically a semi regular with how often he will fill in. By penciling him into an everyday role, they may need two guys to fill the versatility the provides off the bench. I also think they need to give White/Reed the chance to play everyday and win the job.

Couple of things if you haven't been paying attention, like me.
1) Appel got sent back to the minors camp last week. Oberholtzer hasn't allowed a run in 8 IP. Valasquez is doing ok, middle of the road.
2) Domingo Santana is tearing the cover off the ball. Chris Carter is being Chris Carter. Meh. Not leading the team in K's. Villar is hitting .200.
