Said the same thing heading into last season is that he would regress. That's all I'm saying.

Hes got 30 wins in the last 2 seasons.

There was no way his ERA WASN'T going to increase last year.

Why is it hard to believe what we saw last year isn't the same pitcher we would get this year?

I'm not saying he's going to win 20 games, but I'm not saying the guy is "just a good #3 or #4."

You're still not helping your argument sticking with wins as a your stat of choice. If you look at FIP in 2014 and 2015, it increased from 3.11 to 3.58. So not as bad as the ERA jump but still slight regression. Fangraphs projections have his ERA and FIP in the 3.5-3.8 range, so similar to last year. I would be happy with that kind of performance.

ETA: I consider Jabroni a lower end 2/ very high end 3 FWIW.

I agree with this. He's solid and should win you more games than he loses, but he's also not going to blow anyone away.

I would take that on a heartbeat.

I think of him a little higher than that...

I just don't think he's anything under a high end 3. That's all I give.

Nothing more, nothing less.

I think we can all agree that Jabroni is not the ideal No. 2 for the postseason, but he is plenty good enough as a high-end MOR starter. McCullers needs to be on track to be the number two by October, or a big trade may have to happen at the end of July.

Folty one hitting our starting lineup.

That's discouraging. Folty hasn't even been good this spring. I think his ERA was over 9. The lineup hasn't been doing much the last few games.

The guys are bored at this point. They will be ready to go once they play those home games before the season begins.

This team is going to hit. And it will be fun if they are going to send Gattis to extended spring to prepare to catch. Outside of Castro and Jake, every other option at the plate will be very nice.

Fiers has fallen apart in the 5th. 3 singles, 2 walks, a double and 3 runs.

Hinch hung him out to dry. It was clear pretty quickly that Fiers has lost all command. Blum mentioned him looking fatigued based on mechanics.

Correa with a monster ding-dong. Has Gomez gained like 20 pounds in the offseason?

at this point do we really have to suffer through a month of singleton at first?

If so, Luhnow needs his head examined.
