Saw another guy that I've never heard of tweet that EE and Astros happening tomorrow

It seems Luhnow would have pulled off a good deal if he can keep Teddy Ballgame and trade Martes/Paulino/Reed as the top prospects to get that ace.

You can also add 1 of Fiers or Jabroni in hypothetical trades. No need for both of them (really wasn't much of a need to sign Morton)
Ace
DK
LMJ
Musgrove
Either Jabroni or Fiers
And Morton as the 6th guy

Spent the last 30 minutes browsing different White Sox bloggers/insiders on twitter and it really seems like it's just a fact to them that if there is any sort of deal with the Astros for Sale.....Bregman will be involved. With how much leverage Chicago has in that scenario, it seems pretty realistic
Another note- none of them ever mention the idea of dealing Quintana. It's all about Sale

I'm hearing we may have to go 5 yrs on the EE offer.
Yeah, that's the common assumption since he already turned down a 4 year offer from the Jays. He is looking for 5 - $25mill per. The money may be negotiable but everyone assumes whomever signs him will have to give in to that 5th year.

Their GM came out the other day and said they weren't going to deal anyone with four or more years of team control which includes Quintana

I'm ready for Eddie

They don't have as much leverage as you think...sale is a cancer and they want him out of there. Their price will eventually come down.

Damn. I hope 39 yr old EE is worth it.
That said, adding him and the Astros lineup will be fun to watch.

I don't see us trading Bregman or Springer for that matter. Have a feeling Luhnow is laughing at the thought of trading Bregman.

A little off topic but I have been seeing the progress of the center field construction on instagram. Any renderings out there what what the final product should look like?

I agree with this. We are obviously trying to win right now and giving up Bregman or Springer hurts that, even if you're adding other bats like we are.

Imagine the lineup with Encarnacion... Amazes me how far the Astros have come

Reed won't ever be much
Adam Lind is his absolute ceiling.
So a .271 lifetime 18/61 per year is terrible these days?
Compared to what we've since Bagwell, I'll take it.

Well he's only 33, but I agree.

Load the contract up on the front end and I'll be happy.

According to a report on Twitter last night by Brian Bilek of FutureSox.com, the Houston Astros are to sign Edwin Encarnacion today. Many other reports state that Encarnacion is expected to sign soon.
