The Rays seem to want to unload Kiermaier’s salary, he would cost next to nothing in trade capital I would think. Light bat but maybe the best defensive CF in the game (could platoon with a Chas or Jake).
I like Kiermaier, but he's fragile and he's basically an older version of Chas (who rates as an excellent defender) with a lot less pop.

I like Chas and he can get better

Forrest Whitley 2022. Don't forget his name

Kiermaier grades out quite a bit better (with a much longer track record) in CF than Chas. The concern is he’s older and injury prone and dependent on his athletic ability. If it slides he could be pretty useless. I’m not advocating trading for him necessarily he just seems like the only CF option who is clearly available to us
I’m sure there’s others and we likely end up with a some low profile option on a FA deal or small trade. I think getting an OF with major league ability is a necessity though

To put it mildly. He hasn't made it through a full season since 2015.

Whitley might throw off a mound at some point in Sept.

confirmed the interest of the #Baltimore Orioles in Carlos Correa before the #MLB lockout. Story to follow.
Not sure how credible this is, so take with a grain of salt. Translated from Spanish from this blue checkmark:

Yeah I had my hopes up late last night but starting to doubt they reach a deal today. MLB said they’ll make 1 final “best offer” before the 5:00 deadline
