I don’t see a world where the Astros trade Walker. I can’t see a team dumb enough to pick up that contract for the amount of production return.
Most likely scenario is they want to get the most out of Isaac and are trying hard to get bang for buck in return for him.
Also… if by some miracle C-Walk can cut his strike outs down from 180 to 125-130 (where they were prior to Houston), I think we are looking at very similar production.
Having said that, I still prefer Isaac and his plate discipline :)

With Valdez leaving in free agency and Ronel Blanco, Brandon Walter and Hayden Wesneski all gone for most or all of the season after Tommy John surgeries, the Astros' priority was the rotation. All of that is fine, but the Astros didn't address an offense that scored 30 fewer runs than the AL average. A healthy Yordan Alvarez will help, but the third base logjam with Carlos Correa and Isaac Paredes still exists -- and even if Paredes turns into a sort of utility guy, it's a poor use of resources. Maybe that trade is still to come as, after swapping Sanchez for Loperfido, general manager Dana Brown said, "We're not done." The Sanchez trade saves about $6 million, so the payroll sits about $15 million below the first tax threshold.

We’lll have to make a bad contract for a bad contract with Walker.
However, as we saw with the Verlander trade from the Mets, I could see us doing a deal that involves a decent prospect.
And of course our prospects are dog shite according to the sports writers at MLB & ESPN. Yet our scouting department churns out solid pitchers/positional players into the show via talent like Hunter Brown, Jeremy Pena & to be seen soon Bryce Matthews.

I expect many, many down votes but I feel better about this year's team than I do last. I think Pena will come back down to Earth a little but I think Diaz and Walker both hit better. I don't mind the infield surplus because injuries happen. This feels like a scrappy little team.

A lot of it rests on Yordan staying healthy and in the lineup. It can't be understated how much pressure it puts on guys like Walker and Diaz to make up for his production when he's hurt.
