Just my opinion
Nothing wrong with that. I do think SF is better, along with SEA, NE and DEN
But, would the Saints get their arse beat at home like Carolina? No.

But we wont know that, because the Panthers beat the Saints to win the division.
All arguments for the Saints being better than Carolina is that their loss to a completely different team in the same round looked better, and the saints won a road playoff game, but Carolina didn't have to because they beat the Saints to win the division.

quote:In other words, healthy New England over injured Denver? Both had a number of injuries, and both made it to the AFC Championship game...where Denver dominated New England. Let's try to judge them fairly, man. We obviously won't know what the teams would do against each other if they were fully healthy, so let's judge them with how it played out. Von Miller, Ryan Clady, Derek Wolfe, Rahim Moore, Kevin Vickerson, Chris Harris, Brandon Spikes, Vince Wilfork, Jerod Mayo, Rob Gronk, etc... would make one hell of a game, though.
Healthy NE*
Denver
Top 6:
1) Seattle Seahawks
2) Denver Broncos
3) San Fran 49ers
4) Carolina Panthers
5) New England Patriots
6) New Orleans Saints

quote:no. the only argument that should matter is head to head. really the only way to tell who is better. so you look at what happened in those games. saints embarrassed panthers at home. panthers eeked out last second win at their house. using head to head saints are better

at least you arent touting the arse whipping carolina gave your team like that other atlanta fan

Head to head, only 1 game decided who would win the division and get a first round bye. I expect that game to much closer and it was.
Yes, the saints had a bigger win, but Carolina won the much more important game that mattered the most. It was the most important game of the season for both teams.

didnt it come down to the last game of the season?

It is dumb to compare losses. Different teams play other teams differently.

it was just a funny point he made imo

Even thought the series was split and the Carolina Panthers won the division, New Orleans Saints fans will not admit that they (Carolina) were the better team this season. However, if the opposite was true, you would hear the exact...opposite. Anyways, Carolina has been better than New Orleans the last two years, not just this year.

If Head To Head is the only thing that matters here then Saints > Niners.

you auburn panther fans are a hoot.
it's funny how the first game is being thrown out completely because it fits y'all narrative

When it came down to playing the 1 game that would decide (pretty much) who won the division and who got the first round bye, Carolina beat the Saints.
true, we started a rookie LT who played the worst half of football a LT could possibly play.
He then went on the play incredible after he got some snaps under his belt. The Saints with Armstead were way better than the Panthers.

Each team lost in the 2nd round and both teams played each other in their most important game of the season, to see who won the division, and Carolina won.
the 1st Saints-Carolina game was huge too and the Saints beat the shite out of the Panthers.

When did you get your username modified, BTW?

All I can say is that I respectfully disagree.
If Vaccarro doesn't get injured, the Saints win the division. Cam couldn't do a damn thing until that injury took place. Simple as that. Top 5 offense along with a top 5 defense. Better coach, by a long shot. Better quarterback, by a long shot. Better offense, and a defense not far off from what Carolina has.
It's a shame the first game couldn't have been in Carolina, with the second one in NOLA. So I would say scheduling played a part in this, and gave them an unlucky break. Also, let's point out how much the Panthers choked in the playoffs. The Saints, I can say without any doubt in my mind.... would not get embarrassed like that on their field. And to those bringing up the Eagles game. The Saints had clear control over the Eagles up until arguably their best defensive player, Kennan Lewis, went out with a concussion. Anyone want to tell me what Desean Jackson did before that happened? Anyone want to tell me what the Eagles offense looked like?
Not saying Carolina isn't good, but they aren't as well rounded as New Orleans.

Alabama didn't win the division in 2011 but they were the better team as seen by the beatdown as opposed to lsu's squeaker

NO struggled with the Eagles...
they went 7-1 in their last 8 games with an average margin of victory of 16 in those victories.
Philly > Carolina too.
NFC:
Seattle
SF
Saints
Eagles
Panthers
GB
and I'd probably put GB > the Panthers with Rodgers
