When will the teams be randomized? Also, is trading teams going to be ok?

Teams will be randomized at the beginning of the event to ensure everyone fairness. You will see the results from
Random.org for both the users and the teams.
I will give everyone a couple minutes to trade if anyone would like to, yes. Certain teams are worth more than others and that JUDGE spot I wouldn't trade for any other personally. Keep that in mind. There's not a huge difference between the middle of the pack though if you'd like to try to trade for your favorite team. Yankees, Stros, Cubbies, etc will be hard to trade for unless you end up with another premium. I'd like to see people not get screwed by more seasoned vets.
For that reason, I've posted a checklist by team on the first page for everyone.

I see what you're saying but let me explain.
I made the rules when the thread was started. I had no idea it would fill so quickly or quite frankly at all. I don't think anyone could have guessed 24 hours sign up and full payment 30 hours before it started. I did not want to get put in a position where I essentially had to buy teams to make this thing work or cancel it. There's so many things in that scenario where it could have gone wrong, like me getting the JUDGE spot from the randomizer or me spiking the best card in the case. This is all about having fun with the MSB. Being happy for others is a part of that. No one wants to see me win, not even me.
There will be more. The bottom line is these things are all or nothing. You either fill them or don't run them. Those people with two spots were only trying to help make sure this thing happened and I'm thankful for them. This isn't a Fantasy Football League where it fills and you have to wait til next year. It'll be a couple weeks.

dumb question, but why, for example, is there no joey votto card? or why is robert stephenson the only red?
is there guaranteed to be a Judge card in this case? why?

I was just curious, i never saw the thread, and would of joined, but was reading it and saw the alternates and was curious what happened?
I figured this would easily sell out. Even in the threads about the twitch case breakers, there would be 15-20 in there wanting to do one.
Hopefully next time we can get a sticky on the thread.

No, but it's very likely and a base Judge auto is worth about $200.00 even if it's not numbered. His base cards alone are 7-8 a pop. There is a decent amount of Judge hits in this product, hence the value going up as his value has skyrocketed.
The Yankees are still worth more without Judge than the majority of teams.

Not all players are in every product. The Reds just have a coincidental low amount of hits compared to other teams. Not all teams are created equal, hence why I'm throwing in my own autographs and randomly assigning them to certain teams. The two worst spots will get 2 autographs. All the autos are from BB16. When you do random teams, sometimes you just get the shite end of the stick. I'm putting personal items in to make this more fun for everyone. Considering what I've already stated I'm giving out, I would expect to see some more "surprises" to make it a little more fun, particularly for the lower rung teams with less hits.

Quite a few alternates actually made it into the break oddly enough. I was just updating the list as we went along.

I'm not going to bug chicken or the mods for stickies. I'd like to do this as long as people are having a good time. I'm not going to be breaking $4,000 cases of National Treasures and making a living. I'm probably getting minimum wage at best for my time (likely losing money on this one, I didn't price the autos I'm giving away and don't know prospects well). The prices you see on blowoutcards.com are the prices I pay. There's no secret.
At the end of the day, I enjoy the cards and the positive attitude the MSB has when it comes to the subject of cards. People are honest and earnest, but you'll still see some joking around and trolling. No bullshite. Just fun.
