I found this so hard to believe but apparently true. 65 years old, 100 days older than when Pop coached in the Finals in 2014

Well shite, I think I watched him play when I was an undergrad, not sure, may have missed the UVA games

I honestly wouldn't have guessed that Carlisle was that old. I thought he was in his 50s. Didn't realize he has been coaching this long.

As a UVA hater, they had so many great players like him during that era...on that 83 team, Othell Wilson, Sampson, Ricky Stokes...and before that Jeff Lamp and Lee Raker, etc...

He’s been through so much also. He’s had some health issues but he’s always been one of the top coaches in the league every year. He’s very underrated

That is still UVA’s most talented team. Should have beat NC State in the tournament and Sampson would have had a chance to beat Olajuwon in the Final Four.

My first cousin played a post graduate year of high school basketball with Rick at a boarding school in Massachusetts.

I always thought Lee Raker was a great name.

He was just a young buck when he first coached the Pacers

Wow. Phil Jackson was 64 in 2010 Finals.

Brian Stith was a scoring machine
