They dont "owe" him anything.
They've told him they would pay him any bonus that he would receive this season if he were under contract at UM

Its pretty standard in the new era of CFB

Per Scott and dandy Don blog this morning:

Interestingly, LSU head coach Lane Kiffin made out pretty well yesterday while watching from the outside, as his former Ole Miss team advanced in the CFP with a 41-10 win over Tulane. As you may recall, LSU is paying Kiffin bonuses based on Ole Miss’s postseason performance, as stipulated in his new contract. LSU now owes Kiffin $150,000 for yesterday’s win. That number would increase to $250,000 with a quarterfinal win over Georgia, $500,000 with a semifinal victory, $750,000 with a national championship appearance, and $1 million with a national championship win. Bizarre times indeed.

Aww man, hope we can scrape up 500k. Bumping your own bad thread is impressive.

At that rate, he could finally be able to afford the bags at a supermarket instead of lifting a basket.

Hell, he could buy the supermarket.
