I play Gealic Football. The other Irish game. Football is more popular, every kid plays it and it's hyper competitive throughout every town and county in Ireland. The training demands are extreme. I personally play club football, it requires 3 pitch sessions, 2 gym session per week. A high level of athleticism.
Its an amazing thing over here and something irish people are extremely proud of.
Hurling is also a very special game, its more regional than football but extremely popular at all age levels.

Did you ever play Hurling? Seems like a great game except for the risk of getting hit with the stick. Some struggling sports network here in the states should start broadcasting games.
