What are these opportunities?

He's doing it, stating that black QB's don't have as long of a leash as Tebow(basically)

he may have had a point 10-15 yrs ago, but not so much now. I don't doubt that some black QBs still get the athlete label applied, but now you got VY or Vick going high in the draft, and getting the long leash that's usually accorded to such draft status/ investment from a team.

and hell, athletic white QBs have had to switch positions too, look at Scott Frost or Crouch.

This topic is so moronic

The only thing that is a fact is that people like Strong Safety are race baiting pussies will try to turn ANYTHING into race

Tebow was drafted in the first round of the draft and hasn't had considerable playing time considering where he was taken. He is still playing because his team is winning and he isn't turning the ball over. It took their season pretty much going in the tank for him to even get this opportunity which is why it's even more laughable to suggest that he is getting better treatment because he is white.

As long as the team wins they're going to exercise patience with him and see if he develops.

Tebow has a long leash? The dude is winning. It actually seems like to me its the opposite with Tebow. It seemed all the higher-ups in the Denver organization were looking to get rid of Tebow ASAP and would probably hang on to any excuse to do it, but Tebow has been winning so much there is nothing they can do about it.

Vince Young and Vick made pro bowls and never completed only 48% of their passes. Tebow is no where near that level.

Bro? Seriously?

VY had a 51% completion rating his first year starting. His second year he was at 63% but had 9 TD's and 17 INT's. That's not good at all.

Vick hovered at barely over 50% his first 6 years.
His second year playing he was at 54% which seemed to be his best year statistically.

It would take 12 more completions for Tebow to be at 54%. His receivers have dropped at LEAST 12+ passes in the past few weeks (yes, there is a stat for it).

So yeah, he's nowhere near that.

On a side note to everyone who makes shite up... USE frickING GOOGLE!

This is the fricking reason people are protesting right now. Cause they don't have what the other guy has.

This fricking "everyone get's a trophy" culture is bullshite.

Stephen A is more critical of black athletes than anyone, you just listen to what you want to listen too.

Thank you. That brotha calls out A LOT of black athletes and talk shite, laugh at them, call them dumb, stupid, etc. So I guess he hate black athletes.

I think his dislike for Tebow is purely race motivated.

Everything is racial to Stephen A. Smith. The dude is one miserable fricker. When he gets old, there isn't a soul that will want to hang out with his miserable old arse.

i was watching first take last week and in a 3 minute span stephen a smith brought up race when the conversation wasnt even nearing that realm. everything has to be about race with him. The most awkward was with donald faison. he came on as a guest segment and everyone was about to talk sports and he stopped everything to tell donald that he was proud of him because not many black actors achieve as long lasting careers as he has. even donald was like wtf and kind of looked down and said thank you. after that they were talking about the new york giants ship sinking and someone mentioned the band playing on, so naturally stephen a. felt it necessary to tell them black people wouldnt have been playing while the boat was going down. he proclaimed this while he was giving an arm nudge to donald like "you know what im talking about"

But let's be honest, Vick was a MUCH more dynamic runner
