I’d accept a lifetime supply of those ostrich meat sticks.

What does that have to do with what I said? My point is it makes sense for State to tell Americans to get out of an area where missiles and drones are flying in. It has nothing to do with “I thought Doha was safe for tourists.”
I mean, this is just about all the countries Iran has been shooting at. And everyone on this list probably also has more than a few Shia radicals ready to lash out against Americans.

Honestly, that first introduction of Jack might be one of the all time great tone setters. The way he looks like he’s gallantly into port on top of some large mast only to show that hes on a sinking dingy and just makes it to the dock on time.

Portugal, the number of American residents has jumped more than 500% since the pandemic, according to the country’s Agency for Integration, Migration, and Asylum. In Spain and the Netherlands, the Journal reported, the number of Americans has nearly doubled over the past decade,

The ironic thing is this type of stuff is driving up housing prices, gentrifying neighborhoods, and other things that the Americans who are likely leaving claim to disavow over here.

Also, the Spanish and Portuguese citizens have had some pretty significant protests due to over tourism in recent years, never mind people actually moving there and taking up limited space permanently.

I disagree. This is what the UFL should be doing. Throw shite at the wall and see what sticks.

Agreed. The NFL even took stuff from the OG 2001 XFL.

I understand the UFL is not a great on field product. But it is good for 2 things:

1) A testing ground for new rules etc
2) Every once in a while a player or two does well enough that they get another look from the NFL and make one of their squads. Even if that’s only short lived, I appreciate the extra oppportunities.

Isnt this when he came out with a paper bag on his head at some red carpet? I was 10-12 when Even Stevens was on, 13 when Holes came out, 17 when Transformers was a massive blockbuster and then that whole bag over his head was the first time I can remember thinking what happened to this guy?
Inside Out didnt mess around. The imaginary friend scene in particular.

Why would Dunk deny the brother? Seems like a much better life.

My opinion is that Dunk has been resoundingly disabused of what he thought highborn families and knights were supposed to be. He couldn’t find anyone who would vouch for him (and most were condescending assholes when they told him no), Aerion’s various misbehaviors, and then the one house asking him to rig the competition.

Dunk genuinely believes that hedge knights might be the only ones that actually behave knightly.

knight of the nine kingdoms title card was a nice add.

I loved that they had an explicit talk about it. I’m sure weve all at some point in our GoT fandom asked the 7 kingdom question and there are probably dozens of YouTube videos on it.

Hockey is all Canada has. Hilarious when they don’t even have that.

Or espoused by those who thought this was the Summer Olympics or under the impression we were historically Nordic kings.

I would say this even happens in the summer games too. People just assume the US will win because US. I swear every summer Olympics at least one or two people will start a thread about why the US isnt winning the Olympics a week in - well before track, swimming, and gymnastics medals start coming in.
For what it’s worth I think the Japanese in particular love extreme sports too. For those that don’t skateboarding the only countries that basically ever medal in any major competition are Americans, Japanese, and Brazilians.
This is what Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau (the dad) said in 1969:

Living next to you is in some ways like sleeping with an elephant. No matter how friendly and even-tempered is the beast, if I can call it that, one is affected by every twitch and grunt

Canadiens are obsessed with Americans in sports because they know everything they do to live and breathe is reliant on the US. They know it, but they can't stand it. Sports, hockey in particular, is about the only thing they can "one up" us on.

Yes, but the problem is no one in this immediate area really cares about CFB. Like all big cities DC and above, pro sports are the dominant teams. The only people that are passionate about CFB or college sports in general are from out of town. Hell, even though College Park, MD is actually connected to DC's metro system, the team that gets the local radio spot on Saturdays is actually VT. No doubt, Maryland football has a solid enough history, but they don't have an alumni base that cares enough to fuel a powerhouse program in the NIL era. Hell, even the big local sports radio show is hosted by a few UMD alum, and they hardly ever talk about the Terps. Unless you have a singular billionaire like Mark Cuban that is willing to fund your NIL, it's not happening.
