I know he's basically an unknown, but I would love to see the Saints pick him up in the 4th, let him sit 2-3 years behind Drew and learn, then let him take over.

To be honest, I highly doubt he falls to the 4th round even at this point.
I know he's really hot right now, but people fail to remember how players climb up the ladder after pro days and the combine. Especially players that are extreme physical outliers like Cardale.

And the best news of all for Ohio State fans IMO, is that this will almost certainly mean that Braxton comes back.
Everything is shaping up nicely.

I disagree. Braxton is in exactly the same position as Cardale, and he has a free pass to play at any university next year.

He's not getting out of the 2nd round and as we get closer to the draft I am not so sure he gets out of the first if he has a great combine and pro day. Teams always reach for QB's because you simply cannot win a super bowl without one.

He will have a chance to win the job if not he will switch positions.
The guy is a Buckeye through and through with a Block O tattooed to his arm.
I'm not saying he won't leave, but I think this makes it a much easier decision.

What position would he switch to? Serious question.

But a transfer would virtually guarantee he plays QB next year, with a chance to prove he is draft worthy. It would be difficult to pass up on that opportunity, I imagine.

The Browns need a new QB, mabe they can swing a trade for his rights?

H-back.
Basically the jet sweep slot receiver. He would be awesome in that role if he could stay healthy.
He isn't playing QB in the NFL.

I agree with you. I could see him as a slot receiver if he has hands. He has to know if he comes back he won't start at QB. Barrett played way to well for you guys all year.

I honestly think there will be a competition. That's how Urban works and it's the reason why Cardale was prepared as he was. He was in a tight battle for the 2nd string role in spring, then Braxton tore his labrum and it was a battle for the starting spot.
That will happen again, and Urban will be honest with Brax and tell him that it's a competition, but if not we want to use you another way.
The issue is that we already have a very solid H back in Jalin Marshall and a speedster in Dontre Wilson with two other redshirts that want to play there as well. It's a good problem to have, but seeing the field at Ohio State is very difficult right now.

Trevor Matich is ESPN's number one idiot. Even Matt Millen is smarter than ebullient moron Trevor Matice who wants Cardale Jones to stay in school and gain worthless experience. Millen knows that pro training is better than any training Jones would receive with the Buckeyes.

That's why I think when it comes down to it he'll pursue another team. He needs to showcase himself to the NFL next year. I think Florida State will be too enticing for him to pass up.

My thoughts exactly. Don't know about the particular schools he is considering.

You are way off base. Why would he transfer and sit out a year? Makes zero sense. He's NFL bound.
Posted on 1/15/15 at 2:06 pm to TxTiger82
He would have to learn a whole new scheme in 3 months.
And his arm is average accuracy and even depth wise PRE-TORN SHOULDER.
I think he understands his best shot will be at Ohio State.
He could easily flop at a school and kill his draft stock.

The flip side of him staying at OSU will cement him as a legend there and he will be well taken care of after football. I can see him getting a Vince Young type set up only difference is Braxton seems like a good human being.

I don't think that's really going through his mind.
And Ohio State fans would welcome him back even if he went elsewhere.
We appreciate everything these three QBs have done, did this year, and will do for Ohio State in the future, but we want the best for them. If for Braxton that means leaving, so be it. Best of luck. Hope you come home soon after a great NFL career.
