I play lacrosse and know a lot of players (from my team and around the area). The weird thing is, it seems like, if you're a lacrosse player, you're either a really good guy (like myself ) or a complete douche. Not a lot of lax players that are in between, which is kind of weird.

Ohio lacrosse is pretty good, right? My junior year roommate was from there and wanted to walk onto the team, but they didn't have any interest in him because he was a 155 pound skill guy. I think the only walk-ons they wanted were 230 pound guys who would get in there for face-offs, along with back-up goalies and specialists in clears. The skill guys were all recruited from DC, Baltimore, and Long Island.

Never had a problem with any of the lacrosse players I knew although there when we went to the UNC game at Koskinen, one of their alums was drunk and shouting at every little kid wearing Duke gear. Needless to say, security kicked him out about 5 minutes in

It's in the "2nd tier", so it's pretty good. 1st tier's Maryland, New York, and probably some of the other Mid-Atlantic/New England states, and the 2nd tier has us, NC, Cali, Texas, and maybe a few others, and then there's a drop from there.

my school is the best lacrosse school in georgia for the past few years by far. and yet they are ranked in the like 100s and 200s nationally. pretty funny.

Yeah, I doubt Georgia is placing anyone into good D-1 programs unless there is a 230 pound FOGO or an athletic freak who can be useful on clears.

I figured Ohio, along with Colorado, NC, Cali, and Texas were placing a small number of kids in the top programs (either guys who were just dominating the competition or specialists with physical tools, again) but even guys who weren't superstars were able to get into D-1 programs, at least in the lower tier.

It's funny how a guy at Georgetown Prep or Delbarton can start for one year and still get D-1 offers, but a kid from Colorado has to be a 4-year starter and a 4-year standout for even the west coast schools to look at him.

What's your school, Lassiter?

And I just remembered, this is the second UVA lax tragedy in recent years. They had a captain that committed suicide a few years ago.

Yeah, that's basically it.

My team last year was average for Ohio (we're better this year, though-top 10 in the state in D-1) and we traveled to Baltimore for Spring Break to play two average Maryland teams (Loyola Blakefield and Archbishop Spalding, who are both usually pretty good, but weren't that good in Maryland last year) and we got absolutely destroyed in both games.

Central Ohio lacrosse is pretty solid. A guy in our town (goes to one of the other Dublin schools) is going to Hopkins next year. Another's going to UNC, and a few more are going to OSU and Bryant, along with some other good D-3 schools (which, in lacrosse, good D-3 is better than average D-1, unlike football/basketball). A few guys on my team probably could go somewhere good, but they're basically the douches (I mean, they're nice, to me at least, they just do a lot of drugs and stuff and have terrible work ethics) I'm referring to who are lazy and didn't work hard. We do have some juniors and sophs that will probably go some good places, though.

They are called lax-bros and they are typically white, rich, and generally don't give a shite about anyone else besides their friends. Pretty fun to go out with them though.

Lassiter used to have a hell of a baseball program. Is that still the case? We played them on the way to Florida one spring break.

I went to Lexington Catholic. We played them Spring of 97. The only reason I remember the year is because we got kicked out of our hotel in Sarasota for raising hell in the 97 NCG between Arizona and UK. When we played them they were #3 in the country. One of the nicest HS facilities I have ever seen. We got to tour the school with the team. Nothing like that here in Kentucky. We went down there as the #1 team in the state and there coach was like 8 players on the team had signed or committed to D1. We had 1 guy who was going to Miss. St.

yeah the baseball shite is very nice and just extremely well kept. the guy that runs east cobb baseball (probably the best travel program in the country) was heavily involved in the program then and was feeding us money and players.

also, i lived in louisville for a while and my brother went to manual for a year before moving to lassiter. he went to middle school at meyzeek and rajon rondo was there with him for a few years also. just throwing all that out there for no reason, really.

I thought they were getting players from there, just wasn't sure about it. They are a great travel program. Another kid from Catholic used to come down and play with them in the summer. Ben Revere was his name. He was a first rounder to the Twins and UGA commit. I played in the Connie Mack Regional in Memphis in 98 and the East Cobb Yankees were there. They said they were like third or fourth in the group and they looked like the NY Yankees. Watched them play the Memphis team and I believe both pitchers went in the first or second round that year. They were both throwing mid 90's and just killing the hitters.

Lawyers piss me off. So they reported earlier that he shook her and her head hit the wall with the shaking. Then his lawyer says something about how her death was not intended but an accident with a tragic outcome...

Sorry but if you shake someone to where their head is hitting a wall or floor, your intentions were not for her well being.
