I would imagine that in Texas, you only play lacrosse if you can't cut it in baseball (generally speaking)

I'd agree, but the only possible exception to that is Highland Park. Somehow they are able to place kids at top programs in lax. That's not definitely not happening elsewhere, at least with the guy's teams.
In Long Island or Baltimore though, many of the kids play (and star) in football in the fall. Their best kids are playing lacrosse from a young age.

Probably. Definitely not in other areas, though (like where this kid came from).
