Yeah this thread is stupid. Jack was a pretty good player at LSU and did really well in 2021 as others have said. BTJ and Nabers developed as sophomores in 2022 and Boutte returned from injury, plus we had Mason Taylor and a fifth year senior in Jaray Jenkins. There wasn’t enough balls to go around so Jack made a good choice to transfer and get more exposure for NFL scouts.
Also BK made Bech a team captain and our KR/PR in 2022 to get him on the field more.

Why did Brian Kelly kick a future NFL TE off the LSU Tigers?
We were STACKED at WR. He was the fourth best receiver on the team at that point.
ETA: he didn’t get kicked off the team. He left for more playing time. The absolutely did not pull his scholarship.

He made the right call leaving LSU becuz he lit it up at TCU.
He should also be starting for raiders.

He didn't. Bech transferred because he was buried in a depth chart of Malilk Nabers, Brian Thomas, Kyren Lacy, Kayshon Boutte and Mason Taylor. He was 7th on the team in receiving yards in 2022 after being basically dead even for first the previous year. It was a good decision on his part, one of those times where you understand and it really works out for everyone.
No one was "kicked off the team." And all the dudes who passed him up in college are also still doing better than him in the NFL, so what exactly are we talking about here?

Why does everyone think Jack Bech is a TE?
Because he was technically a tight end at LSU but was more like an H-back than a true tight end.

legit despise Brian Kelly, always have. But this is dumb.
1. Bech transferred, not kicked off the team
2. He's a WR now
3. Mason Taylor was better

Correct.
Jack saw a lot time as a true-Fr in '21 after Kayshon got hurt. But after he fell behind Lacy his PT was gonna be limited.
Tiger fans begrudged him for the muffed punt vs UTenn in '22. (FTR, a lot of great Tigers muffed punts over the years.) But he was a good talent all along. Glad to hear he made it to the next level.
