I like Jim Rome but I can understand all of the retooling. His radio show had peaked and was beginning to slide....

Jim Rome had the best interview ever when he had Sheldon Kennedy on. That segment should be a must listen before you judge Rome or coach youth sports.

Nothing will change how fake he is or that he sucks.

Hey dukke or pj or whatever you call yourself, stfu. Your act is more tired than Rome if that is possible.

That's honestly a great get for CBS. I enjoy that channel.

I never liked him. I needed a code book to get through his California lingo.

I'm in the minority here. I enjoy listening to his radio show.

hell yes literally NO REASON whatsoever to watch espn now outside of actual games.
His show on ESPN was watered down anyway. Much better in the jungle.
Yeah the guy who has a net worth in the tens of millions of dollars from a job that any of us would kill for ...considering you very well might be the absolute least qualified person out of the thousands on this board to make such a accusation, makes your statement all the more perfect PEEJ.

I don't understand the hate for this guy.
He seems to be the only radio host who is capable of thinking for himself. Dude has some funny parts in his show, too.
To each their own but he is by far my favorite radio show ever.

I think some of Rome's schtick is tired, but he is absolutly a great interviewer. He is always well prepared with insightful questions.

i agree... these days sindicated national radio has no personality, and the only ones who did have a personality have all been taken off the air(kornheiser, patrick)... plus he's a very good interviewer and usually has good quests on the show. His delivery is unique, but i don't mind it.

If someone doesn't like the guys delivery, I can completely understand... he doesn't sound like the local guy or the espn clone. But like you pointed out he is ALWAYS very well prepared and will not just throw inaccurate crap/revisionist history around. He gets more guests than just about anyone because he is respectful to them and educated about their story/position.

Rome is awesome the difference b/w him and a Stephen a smith or cowherd is Rome doesn't need ESPN to have a highly rated nationally syndicated show
You may not like him but you can't lump him in with the shot at ESPN. He is a unique radio talent and he's been doing it for 20 + years

agree completely... and the only decent people they've had who were unique, ESPNs run them off...
I like mike terrico as an announcer, but he's got all the personality of my laptop... and his replacement (SVP) is decent, but when he actually goes out of his way to have a decenting opinion, ESPN suspends him for two weeks.
