DO IT!
Mark Price was a 4x NBA all star.
Jimmer will never be an all star because he wont be on the floor enough because he wont be able to guard NBA point guards or 2 guards.
simply think of him trying to guard the really good NBA PG's. And there are a lot of them, nearly 15 deep without looking.
unless of course he falls to a team that blows, in an uptempo system. But im not even sure he would thrive in that type of offense. He's more of a half court player in my eyes

There are a lot of good players who have been terrible defenders. Price wasn't a great defender. Bibby was a pretty bad defender. Nash, a two-time MVP, has been a garbage defender.
I think you and I are close to being on the same page - we don't think he'll be a yearly all-star. But I do believe he can be an above-average player in the league with the ceiling of Mike Bibby, who I don't think was ever an all-star but was regarded as a top 10 point guard. Again, that would be his best IMO.

ETA: i actually like the Bibby comparison. Though like Curry, he had a sneaky "gear" with the ball in his hands in his younger days.
I just haven't seen that out of Jimmer. the kind where you take a long rebound and take it up the court and be able to split a 2 on 1 and score on 2 defenders.
I think he's a lot more like a 30 year old Bibby than a 22 year old Bibs. Which makes him a contributing NBA player, but i dont see much more.

IMO Bibby has always been a pussy. Fredette is much tougher
I'm no Bibby fan, but I never questioned his toughness.

I see his high side as a Mark Price type.
he's more Brent than Mark

jimmer has averaged 37% from 3 for his career...he is a 6-2, 2 guard(or scoring pg sometimes) in college..in the nba, he's a tweener, and lucky to become an average back-up pg(with a ceiling of maybe derek fisher)...he may get that 6th man role(make 3's off the bench a-la steve kerr,jj redik) but with his 37% shooting in college, he may not even be a good enough a set shooter to accomplish that..
-in college he has thrived by getting a step on others, driving to the hoop, creating with his quick 1st step, drawing contact, and shooting 3's when the defender backs off a little bit...
-i don't see any of this working at the next level, where all the pg's are faster and move as well or better than him..and a majorty of the 2-guards are significantly bigger and better shooters than him..
-he also cant play def, and like i said before..is a 6-2 tweener guard..i wouldnt touch him in the draft if it were my decision.
