Am I the only one who thinks he would’ve been a bust no matter if he put in the work or not? His lack of humility is crazy for someone with a below average arm. Mike Evans made him look a whole lot better than he actually was. I remember the windy day in Tiger Stadium where his lack of arm talent really showed. It was Evans or bust and he looked like trash. He actually thinks he’s above these leagues that he struggled in and at 30 something odd years thinks he could make an NFL roster. Give me a fricking break. Would’ve looked like Tebow even if he studied film like a mad man.

His style of play worked in college. But shite like that rarely works in the NFL. I forgot who it was, but they said when they watched his tape at A&M, one thing always stood out. You know what that was? Every time he threw the ball down the field it was Mike Evans making a crazy catch. So he 100% benefited from having a future HOF potentially at WR.

He was a top 5 QB in the last 10 years for a COLLEGE QB. That’s it.

But this is a LSU board and they hate every that’s A&M

Should have stayed in college, a great what if. If Manziel stays for his junior (and senior) seasons does Mike Evans come back for 2014? It's not crazy to think they might have made it that first year of the CFP.

I still think A&M would have found a way to frick it up but he was fun to watch and having that HOF safety valve really allowed him to create.

LSU had elite team speed on those defenses. Every NFL team has elite team speed. Its not surprising that his game didnt translate well to the NFL. Not bothering to learn the playbook or take it seriously probably hurt also.

I was hoping both the FCF Zappers and he would make a comeback together. I’m a fan!

It was cold, raining, and he was playing w/an injured thumb that game.

He also had a pretty phenomenal O line in '12 that could move the pocket and give him time against most defenses.

I don't think he was ever going to work out great in the NFL where those kinds of mismatches are rare.
