What does any of this have to do with the fact D12 is soft?

I was actually going to say, and now Boom is going to find any Stats he can to fit his argument.

Ben Wallace was a role player, maybe one of the greatest ever but still a role player.
I'll never understand how being a dominant offensive player means that you are a 'superstar,' but a dominant defensive player and rebounder is nothing more than a 'role player.'
We can ignore the fact that he was a 4 time defensive player of the year. Ben Wallace also finished in the top 10 in MVP voting 3 times. From 2000-2005, he was arguably a top ten player in the whole league. How does that classify as a role player?

Yep, Towns is as good as AD. You're absolutely right.

KAT will be the best center in the league in 2 years.
It's great for Wiggins, because he's doesn't have to pretend to be the alpha.

Lavine is a servicable second unit lead scorer and off-guard, which the team will need down the road, if it is looking to compete for a title.
There are two giant monsters in the way of this Minnesota team, that no one wants to talk about:
1) Sam Mitchell is in the bottom 3 of NBA coaches. His minutes and lineup distributions are arguably *the* worst in the NBA. The offense is 10 years out of date, by NBA standards, and the defense isn't geared to take advantage of the athleticism of KAT, though he is still doing a terrific job of getting chase-down blocks.
2) Ricky Rubio makes playing offense a 4 on 5 proposition, because he is the worst shooter in the history of the NBA. He's fantastic in just about every other phase of the game, but teams have more flexibility in doubling against Minnesota than any other team in the league. This is why I look for them not to draft Simmons in the spring, even if they have a pick where he is available- they can't afford to play Rubio along with another player who has to develop a jumper to have a complete NBA game. I think they could find a serious shopper for Rubio, as cost-controlled PG play for a team like the Knicks, that have two ball-handling heavy usage guys, and draft a new PG, or try to sign Conley.

if you think the wolves would pass on simmons because ricky rubio is on their roster, you are batshit crazy

You can't play two guys who haven't proven to be able to shoot. That's the lesson of the modern NBA.
They might take Simmons, but if they keep Rubio, it would be a mistake. Primes last only so long, and they need to have substantial progress by the last year of Wiggins' rookie deal, unless he wants to be permanent understudy to KAT.

He's not as good as Davis. He's not close to Davis yet.
Towns is a phenomenal talent, but slow down.

It is a reasonable response in most drafts, but this draft is soooo shitty. Simmons is so clearly the best prospect now that you would be insane to pass on him.

the point is that they would definitely take simmons in this hypothetical. zero question.
what they do with rubio at that point, i have no idea, but they would take simmons.

Thats bc he's a Pels fan and he heard all offseason that Davis is the next big thing, gonna win MVP in '16. Now you're telling him just one half season later that Davis probably isn't the next big thing, that this rookie Towns is pretty much on his level today..in his rookie year. Of course he doesn't like to hear that whether it's true or not.
Posted on 2/4/16 at 1:59 pm to hoopsgalore
I bet every GM in the league would choose AD between the two
Posted on 2/4/16 at 2:00 pm to Boomshockalocka
Davis in a "down year" is still lighting shite up
He's easily a top 10 player and he's 22.
And no I didn't think he'd win MVP because the team isn't good enough around him. I had them as around the 7th-8th seed. 6th at the absolute highest.
