Same. Don’t think anyone would hate Cooper at 42, but I don’t think he will make it to us. Lotta late 1st rd talk with him now

This is bad company to be in. May cross these two off my list

Yea zero concern doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. And fwiw, the guy who reported it was not claiming it should impact his stock or that it was a “big deal”
Bernard would be the perfect addition at WR
You just can’t bypass free agency and the draft with the idea of seeing way Jaylen Polk has. If he’s actually something he should be able to compete with whoever we bring in and win a job
Polk, means, Palmer can be depth but you’re in trouble if they’re in your top 3. A third WR to play next to Olave and Vele isn’t on this roster yet. And Olave and Vele aren’t exactly pillars of health. Wouldn’t be shocked if they get a vet FA and take a guy at 42

Drafting a big time receiver or edge will also make you better…

51 OL, WRs and Edges were drafted in the top 10 since 2015

2 have won a Super Bowl with the team that drafted them - Devonta Smith and Charles cross. Smith wasn’t even WR1 on his team.

Why? Because QB is the only true position affecting a team’s success. Secondly, bad teams generally pick in the top 10 and bad teams don’t win super bowls

Over the last 10 seasons

a first round RB has led the league in yards from scrimmage eight times.

A first round RB has led the league in TDs 7 times

Look at the top 10 in these stats every year, it’s littered with first round guys. Mainly top 12 guys. If you’re hunting elite RBs, this is where you do it. Youre equating team success with individual success

Going to see if any verifiable guys report on it before I take it as gospel

Article is behind a paywall, but the author is Cory Kinnan of daft on draft. Never heard of him but apparently he’s broken some stuff before.

Rumblings that Downs has a partially torn meniscus and that he also has degenerative ACL

He’s had nagging injuries both years. Which is more of a reason to consider it. Easier to backfill a guard

Fuaga is a prototypical RT.

He graded 53/89 tackles in 2025 per PFF

48/81 in 2024

I know moving guys is a point of contention for many. But would he have more value as an elite guard (guessing here) who could fill in at both tackle spots if someone went down? Some of the best guards are former tackles including guys we had like Carl Nicks and Jahiri.

Draft Fano, Mauigoa, or Freeling. The draft may fall where we just can’t pass on one of these guys.

For shits and giggles

Many pundits are putting Love in the top 5 now

With a lot of guys only doing certain drills now, RAS has become kind of muddled. If they’re skipping drills they aren’t great at, we need to really pay attention to RAS.

Not this guy in particular, just in general

I wonder how much thought we’d give to drafting Mauigoa and plugging him in at RT, and moving Fuaga inside.

I’d be looking for Love or Delane at that point.

Yea I meant Love and Styles would be gone by us due to their combine

After looking at Fano and Mauigoa’s full combine, they didn’t hurt themself. Fano killed all the drills and Mauigoa’s arms were longer than previously reported. They are the wildcards in the top 10 that can really sway who falls to us
I don’t really see how Cooper is being mocked so far behind Tate, Tyson etc. Good route tree, good vs man and zone, YAC, size and speed are good. I think Cooper and Germie Bernard are nice high floor guys we will consider.

This little crop of small guys are interesting too.

Then you have the taller guys who showed out - Jeff Caldwell, Lance, Sturdivant, Brazzell, Hurst, Bell

Probably unrealistic to come away with two of these guys but it would be nice

It’s not only the height, it’s the weight too. Branch is 177lb, Burks 180. The closest to them in height/weight over the last few drafts

Rondale Moore
Andy Isabella
Elijah Moore
Greg Dortch
Malik Washington

For comparison Wes Welker was 195 @ 5’8”
