Churchill Downs is located in the worst part of Louisville. It's in the middle of sketchy ghetto residential neighborhood and parking is very limited. Traffic backed up in all directions for miles. No idea why anyone would want to deal with that. If I wasn't there for work not sure if I would voluntarily go.

Who is the favorite is it still Classic Empire?
The thing I'm looking at is currently showing Classic Empire at 6/1 and Always dreaming at 9/2.
I think thats because of the post positions with AD at 5 and CE at 14.
Fwiw, I like CE more. I already got an exacta box for them in case I don't make it to the track tomorrow... Who am I kidding, I'll be there.

evacuate the infield
My God...I bet that was a shitshow. When I was in college, I went to the infield two years in a row, and I can't imagine how crazy an evacuation would be.
One of the years I went (2009), it rained the entire day. People were in the infield doing mud slides in their underwear at like 10:00 AM. I always wondered what they did for the remaining 8 hours at the track

So, just like the fairgrounds? Awesome.

I'm still undecided for the Derby.
I'm betting an exacta with Paradise Woods and Farrell for the Oaks. Unless she responds poorly to the slop, I have a hard time seeing anyone beating Paradise Woods. I do like Miss Sky Warrior, but I can't make myself pull the trigger on her.

You better make that a big exacta bc it sure arse hell won't pay.
I don't like glue on shoes in sticky mud. Didn't realize that's what the 4 had on.

Not even close, trust me I could take you to way worse parts of the city.

Yes, it is the Derby
That is like expecting NOLA to be empty for Mardi Gras

fricking miserable out here today
Could be worse, I have been there when it snows for Derby.

Count your blessings, the infield is the Mos Eisley of the sporting world.

You should see Pimilico, a frickin war zone.
No one said Churchill is set up and have the settings like Keeneland, Saratoga, or Del Mar...and imagine going to UL which is basically next door.

Someone probably told you to bet that one.
And who exactly did you bet?
When I saw her in blinkers I added her. Wasn't planning on it after he last.

You know Lexington loves hearing how China money wants to spend more on the horses. looks like the 'toons going get a run in being out spend at the sales.

Why is Lockdown 20-1 in the ML for the Oaks?
Not saying they should be favored but 20-1 seems a bit long?
My post earlier in the thread, finished third and paid 18.40 or about what Abel Tasman paid to win and well above DLD place bet.

I hate how the whole thing was handled with giving the horse to Baffert. Hate it.
