For what it's worth, both teams stranded a runner at 3rd with less than 2 outs twice.

Yep, that is true. But that just proves we can be a good defensive team.

The fact that we were not scoring many more runs considering all the many pitching changes last night is just indicative of how much we are struggling offensively.

Because when y'all lose to us in football your recruiting to the school will go down hill as for ULM it will go up.

I was born and raised in North La and can honestly say that ULM will never be anything more than what it is. The students there are going because: A) It's close B) They couldn't get into LSU or even Tech C) They want to go into Pharmacy or Construction Management. Honestly with the addition of Delta a lot of A & B are just going to school there. The only plausible thing to do with the state in a budget crunch is to annex the Pharmacy and Construction Management students and faculty to either LSU or Tech.

As for athletics, I've attended quite a few games at Fant Ewing and Malone stadium. North La sucks at basketball attendance unless they're a bunch of women running around in light blue in the 90's so I can give y'all a pass there. However, I've sat in a box with Stan and Doug watching games and have seen more fans in the grove than on the west side of the stadium. This even includes a Saturday night game when y'all were playing the Cajuns and the guys in the Grove were watching LSU play the little children of the poor.

It would be interesting to see SLU playing in Oregon State. I think we could get a few wins in that regional.

Gunner Leger lowered his ERA to 0.95 today, now 7-1 on the year. Dude is incredible.

Any chance he stays another year?

It's possible. He probably won't be a super high draft pick because he only throws around 85-88 mph. Wyatt Marks will probably be our highest drafted pitcher, if I had to guess. I think Hogan Harris will be drafted high in a year, power lefties are highly coveted. His fastball has been touching 95 mph this year.

Barring a severe turnaround looks like the Demons are in danger of missing the conference tourney.

Definitely need to bring in pitching next year.

McNeese beats UNO 5-0.
Sam Houston bests SFA 13-0 to maintain lead in Southland.

That series between McNeese/Sam Houston is setting up to be the defacto Regular Season title if these 2 keep on this pace.

If Leger waits til his senior year, he will get a 10k signing bonus. Of course, that's all he'll likely get if he's drafted past 15 as a junior.
If he likes school, just as soon stay.

Yeah I have no idea what his plans are so I don't even want to speculate. I've just had a great time watching him pitch for three years. I wish the offense would help him out a lot more than they have been.

Good news for McNeese

SFA knocks off Sam Houston 5-1 today, McNeese now only 1 game back of the Bearkats

shite luck will have us lose to UNO tonight...

We need to sweep UNO to keep pace. Would be nice if SFA can take another one tomorrow, but if we can get out of this weekend only 1 game back of the Bearkats, I'll take it.

SFA is proving to be a much better team than I expected. Wouldn't be totally shocked to see them knock off SHSU tomorrow.

From what I've seen McNeese might be the most well rounded team in the SLC. IF there is a chance for Sam to get knocked off its the next couple of weeks as they host McNeese next weekend before travelling to SLU. Huge opportunity for McNeese to take control of the conference race.

If McNeese wins conference I think they'll be in a great position to get an at-large.

its too late for Tulane. too bad they were so abysmal early on. should have been a regional team but their RPI is more than likely too low.

Cajuns beating Arkansas State 7-1 in the 5th inning. We need a sweep this weekend. Gonna need to win the conference to help get into a regional

Absolutely not. The next 17 games in a row are against Top 100 RPI teams. They keep on a tear and they can make up A LOT of RPI ground.
