I've been to Michigan a few different times, up near the upper part of the lower peninsula, as well as Grand Rapids. It was nice there. The suburbs of Detroit themselves are nice. To be honest, I think, as a whole, the state is nicer than Ohio (though both have their nice and not so nice areas, like every state).
The city of Detroit is the most miserable place I've ever been.

I'm a Mavericks fan; Dirk has never been more than an average defensive PF. On the flip side, no Power Forward has been at his level of shooting skills in his time in the league. Take from that what you want.
