Kobe #1, and I'll tell you why.

- He's a better teammate
- He's got a more well-rounded game
- His team has adopted his unselfish personality
- His team is getting better in the playoffs
- He's taken his level of play, which was already nuts, to a new level in the playoffs
- He's 1st-team All-NBA Defense

Oh wait...

shite.

Nevermind.

Lebron has cemented himself as the #1 player for this year. Kobe isn't near him this season, especially after losing to the injury plagued Rockets last night. The Rockets were the better team in the series from what I saw, but now the Lakers should win the rest with ease (despite losing last night). The nuggets are a tough matchup for any team right now

I am not sure why this is even a thread...

Lebron has the league MVP award

If you want a thread about Kobe vs. Lebron - then just title it that way

with Yao, yes they could beat Cleveland (not in a 7 game series)

it was a compliment to the Rockets, who I think are the 2nd best team in the West with Yao

he is #1

i guarantee if Lebron was on the Lakers they wouldnt lose to the Rockets at home or without Yao Ming

Kobe easily has the best team in the league and they are being pushed by a bunch of scrubs

...yes, yes they have against the miserable Detroit Pistons and the very very average Hawks team, as boom pointed out early.

Lebron is able to carry a team better mainly because of his ability to drive to the basket. When he's hot Kobe is amazing but as we've seen he can go cold and be a non-factor. Lebron seems to get to the hoop with ease and finish nearly every time. That would be why I would want Lebron over Kobe.

very true, but to be honest, i wouldn't stand in the way of a 6'9", 250lbs+, man child coming full speed at the basket to posterize me either....

I wouldn't be afraid to guard Kobe...I'd be terrified to go against Lebron.

Three years ago it was still Kobe's NBA.
Last year it was a toss up.
This year it is CLEARLY Lebron's.

I understand this is all opinion and therefore theoretically debatable, but I would be willing to bet I watch more NBA than 95% of this board. (It's my second fav. sport behind college football.)

Lebron can play the 1-4 at an elite level. His explosion in his legs is at it's peak.

Kobe can play the 1-3 at an elite level. He is obviously 2-3 years removed from being at his physical peak.

until he embaressed the shite out of you, by dropping 40+ on you and you no longer were given that assignment.

Coach then tells you that from now on when playing the lakers your main assignment would be Vujacic....

40+? On a TD poster? Don't insult Kobe like that.
