(3) Riverside wins a very sloppy game over (22) Runnels 8-7 in 8 innings. Combined about 8 errors and some base running mistakes. Runnels led 7-3 in the 4th inning.

Riverside advances to the state tournament in Sulphur.

Curtis vs U-High rematch of the football finals. Should be a fun matchup.

Ghost you saw drop at 2b?

And no call on the shove on what should have been a dp?

Sad a playoff game can't get those calls right...

Big loss for PBS in pre game too.....

I hope it's not so bad for Austin. What a comeback year he had!

My nephew threw a no hitter in the Quartefinals to get them to the Semifinals. It was 5 innings because of the 10 run rule but I thought it was cool for him to get that experience and feeling in such a big game.

Those were all tough cs. Guy at second was safe, but he left the bag and was tagged. Shoulda stayed while umps talked. And the "shove" might have been a shove, but the PBS kid was turned towards the outfield on the baseline while the Curtis kid was running full speed towards first. Almost looked like just a reaction.

Also, if Curtis doesn't have those errors in the first 3 innings, PBS doesn't score more than 1 run. Also thought the strike zone was a little wacky, but it went both ways.

PBS pitcher had some heat. I was impressed. Although I was worried about Myles after that hit. It looked bad.

Hitting on both sides looked like it would have been better if there wasn't such a bad wind.

Am I wrong that if the kid would have stayed at second and the umps would have consulted and agreed the ball was dropped the decision could have been reversed? I know the coaches went out there to discuss it immediately, but the kid left the bag as soon as he was called out and no one could really have time to discuss it.

Don't leave out that a Riverside outfielder robbed a would be go ahead HR in the 8th inning, pretty cool for that kid

The ump called him out which is why he left the bag when he did according to the player - I heard some discussion at the park that the reason that they (umps) did not discuss any reverse is that the ball came out on the transfer- looked to me that he never really had control of the ball though. Would have been interesting to see what they would have done, if anything, had he stayed on the bag.

Regarding the shove, it did not look all that bad to me.

Overall it was a great game to watch though. Hats off to JC and their program. Looking forward to next year!

yes.. he's called out.. no need to hold the bag period.... he's out...

nobody I talked too including curtis parents and neutral coaches thought it was in the transition...
he just dropped it.. the CF on the one he dropped caught it "more" than that play...

at the least the other play at 2b was interference...
