He will be 17 as a sophomore. Most sophomores are 15 . It’s no secret West Monroe has always done the hold back thing. Like I mentioned earlier, he is still a great athlete that hit a baseball

14U Division
Players who turn 15 prior to May 1 of the current season are not eligible unless they are in the 8th grade. Also, any player turning 16
prior to September 1 will not be eligible. Players who are 14u eligible are eligible for this division regardless of grade.

I have no idea. Maybe Loyola was going to get rid of him?
Two jobs that are not going to be easy to win at, I'll say that.

Looking at his USSSA profile, he played his age every year and 16 played 13u, in 17 played 13u and 14u, in 18 played 14u.
So it looks like he was held back in 2017?

My son just finished his freshman year of baseball and he is 13. Most of the players in his class are 14. Having a 16 yr old freshman is ridiculous and unfair. His parents and the school should be ashamed

So you are telling me he wont turn 18 until after his freshman year in college?
Most kids turn 16 at the end of their freshman year or during the summer/beginning of their sophomore year

quote:Yeh. Like I said, if his son is still 13 after the end of his freshman year he will be 17 his entire freshman year of college. That would be very young

He will turn 14 in 3 weeks, and is young for his grade. But the majority of his teammates on the freshman team are only 14

Turns 14 at end of freshman year
turns 15 at end of sophomore year
turns 16 at end of junior year
turns 17 at end of senior year
turns 18 at end of freshman year of college
Man that would suck

That’s what the math is telling you, correct?

Even if he went back a grade he would STILL be one of the youngest ones in his class

He’s pretty bummed that he won’t be able to drive until he’s almost a senior.
Still, excluding my son, most of the kids his grade are 14 with a few being 15. Having a 16 year old freshman is just mind boggling to me.
