It probably helps that his dad owns a gym and he’s been wrestling since before he could walk. His little brother will be dominating once he gets there.

Richie Clementi Has been an absolute beast this year . Kid got some swag and just beats the piss out of people as a freshman.
He's been wrestling under his dad with Gladiators, in Slidell, since he was a kid. First year his dad hasn't coached him. He has a little brother Cash, who's just as good..
Edit: 7LSU7 beat me too it..

My son wrestles with Scorpians. Gladiators puts out some really good wrestlers.

Where are the scorpions out of. My son is almost 6 here in BR and I want to start looking for a club to let him try it out.

Metairie.. They practice at Rummel's wrestling gym.
Heres a LINK to all Louisiana clubs. BR has a few. Allstar, BR Wrestling Club, and Live Oak Wrestling Club in Denham.
It's great for kids. Get him involved early..

I wrestled in junior high and HS and helped coach our local club while I was in HS because my little brother was in it. I agree it’s great for kids.
He’s just into so much right now I need him to have a sports break as he wants to play everything, and I don’t want to overbook my 5 year old. I don’t want to be that dad

He may pin his way through the tournament. (not sure if that first and second round is a duplicate).
The Elsensohn might do it too.

Might be a good match between he and Enk with StP's..
Side Note: Holy Cross has three 8th graders and 4 freshmen wrestling for them.
Still not doing too bad, in the top 20 overall.

Clementi has wrestled for three minutes and with four pins so far as a freshman.

That’s insane. With domination like that, I wonder if he’s eventually going to wrestle in college
Posted on 2/12/22 at 4:51 pm to Oilfieldbiology
Absolutely will. Already been to numerous national tourneys and placed extremely high. When it is all said and done, he will potentially end HS undefeated and could break some pin records depending on if he tries to the next 3 years.
Kid is special and will wrestle Big 10 in the 125/133 range I'm guessing.

Thought I'd give a reasonable rundown and some highlights from the weekend if anyone is interested.
The tournament was overall two solid days of constant action and excitement. If you live around BR I'd encourage you to check out the Saturday rounds next year. It's nonstop action from 10am until 7pm.
Overall summary:
As expected, Brother Martin regained the D1 title from St Pauls, Teurlings Catholic ran away with the D2 title even more dominate than last year, and Basile won their 4th in a row as D3 champions.
Watching in person Clementi (BM 113), Perry (Airline 120), Ingram (Live Oak 145), Horvath (BM 170), and Hyatt (Sulphur 195) are the real deal. Each of them dominated through their brackets and were walking highlight reels. In my personal opinion the kid from airline was the most impressive since the Frost twins. The biggest surprise of the finals I think was the 160 from EA losing. Hats off to the wrestler from St Paul for his victory.
You can go to track wrestling.com and see the results and watch the matches.
If anyone is interested, I'll run down D2 and D3 too.
