I'm guessing this isn't how you saw this thread playing out?

Chicken

Also, the Dynamo have more Championships, hell, Playoff appearances, than the Texans.

MLS just had its best attended season ever. The league is averaging over 17,000 fans per game. LINK

It doesn't have the TV ratings yet, but it's a very young league.

I thought people would make a better argument for why soccer is legit than, "more people watched it than watched the NBA."

Considering people have been skeptical about the success of a soccer league in America ever since it started, I'd say surpassing two major sports in terms of average attendance is solid evidence for soccer's legitimacy in this country.

That sequence of posts pretty much sums up your success in this thread.

Wait, I thought you guys meant it would surpass a major sport SOMEDAY.

You actually think it already has?

If they tie in the championship game, do they go by who had better attendance? It's a fair question. The way they settle ties in the sport is a fricking joke.

How on Earth are you supposed to make an argument that any sport is "legit"? I know many people who have no interest in American football. I guess they don't think it's "legit."

Coin flips and the first team to score isn't a joke? Or is making a mockery of the game by giving each team a chance at the 25 yard line a joke?

In terms of average attendance, it has surpassed the NBA and NHL. The league has only existed since 1996. That isn't impressive to you?

I agree. The sport isn't without its drawbacks. No sport is though. ETA: if you mean by penalties.

How many games do they play in MLS? Do you honestly believe if the NBA went down to that many, they wouldn't EASILY surpass them?
