I kind of am a redneck. I'll admit that hipsters that have usually not played competitively a day in their life tend to gravitate towards being soccer fans.

You gotta link me to something on that, because I find it hard to believe.

NBA

MLB

The highest average attendance in the NBA would come in at the 27th highest average attendance in the MLB.

This is what shootouts remind me of.

Doesn't happen that often. It's happened only twice in the WC, and about that many times in the MLS Cup.

Your example made no sense.

And hockey, a "legit" sport, ends ties in shootouts.

I have a lot of friends that love soccer, some country guys some hipster types.

I'm not even saying it's this utterly terrible sport. But in America, it really means next to nothing. Give it time, maybe that changes.

But seriously, the Dynamo are decent from what I've been told and no one here cares at all. The few people who do like soccer want to see the big time Euro stuff, not the minor leagues.

You do know that in the Stanley Cup playoffs there is no such thing as the shoot-out right Bhoy?

So you made the thread why?

And

I'm not going to dignify that place with a post.

?

Just admit that this thread failed on an epic scale.

And you still haven't figured out the reply button.

I'll type it more clearly so you can understand.

This. Is. Not. A. Defense. Of. Soccer.

You're trying to legitimize something stupid by comparing it to something else stupid. And not even something by one of the big 3 sports.

Soccer just has less arm chair quarterbacks (for lack of a better term) than other sports. I played soccer my whole life, still do. I played travel for 10 years and could have played soccer in college, but chose not to. I hardly even watch soccer.

You should root for Philly teams, man. I get that vibe from you.

That's what I've been trying to say. For a league that started in 1996 to average 17,000 fans per game fifteen years later is amazing. It's a league no one thought would succeed, yet it's still here. It's going to take a generation to build up a fanbase though. Just for your information, the Dynamo had a higher average attendance than the Rockets.

Is that your ultimate insult? If I said, "frick you, you suck. I hate your guts."

And you were SUPER offended.

You'd respond, "Well, you're in HIGH SCHOOL!"

For the record, I am not in High School. But I don't see what the big deal is.... did you not go to high school? Were people mean to you there?

I actually like Hockey, although being in Houston I didn't really grow up with it.

It was impossible to watch until I got a bigger flatscreen. The damn puck is impossible to keep up with on TV less than 40"

There is a guy on here that is a fan of the Aeros and given my people live in Sulphur/Lake Chuck if I am down again near Christmas I will go to an Aero's game, AHL is great hockey and it won't break the bank...

The beer is super cheap. I still haven't seen them play since they moved to Toyota center. I actually learned to skate in the Aerodome when I was a kid, and my dad saw Gordie Howe play there in the 70's. He's from Chicago, so much more into it.
