the ice gators used to sell out every game and were the talk of the town for a couple of years. The games were great.

i mean i have not lived there for the last 3 years but looking at their website the arena is still rocking. but you gotta understand, the everblades are the only decent sports team within 2 hours of ft.myers, so EVERYONE supports them. i hate every florida athletics team with a passion except the blades, if they make the kelly cup this year i am taking a road trip

Dude...you would have loved it here about 10 years ago. The ECHL had an I-10 corridor...there were teams in Lafayette, Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Jackson, Biloxi, Mobile, Pensacola, and Tallahassee, and all did pretty well. The IceGators were the crown jewel...they did average well over 10,000 for quite a few years. But as mentioned earlier, the fad died, and all of the teams disappeared.

the famous Louisiana Icegators Intro for the last time.
LINK
I remember when the Icegators were in first place.
He use to say. The opponents team first and then "And your 1st place Louisiana Icegators."
Good times :(

man the everblades are to ft.myers what LSU is to baton rouge. 99% of the people there are die hard fans. shite we had to camp out and tailgate to get kelly cup tickets in 2001 i believe it was

Jay Murphy, Chris Valicevic, John Spoltore, and I can't remember his full name but I think his last name was nelson. He was like 6'8 and he was #77

That was the reason why all the teams didn't last here...they weren't hockey fans, they just wanted to go to games to drink beer and watch the players beat the shite out of each other.
