Pretty sure if Catholic lose 2 or 3 matches they are done and crusaders take it home!
Knowing Catholic I'm sure that's exactly what will happen.
Wish I was there to see the big Gibbons/Roman match @ 195. Gibbons gets all the hype (rightfully so) but I think Roman will surprise everyone and avenge his prior lose to Gibbons.

Isn't Gibbons the best wrestler in the state?

That probably depends on who you ask.

I would venture to guess Catholic will choke like they normally do in the finals, but I'll pull for them simply bc they're a BR team. (Though if I had to root for a NOLA team, it's usually BM)
Didn't Catholic win state two or three years ago?

This.
He's certainly the most highly touted, and is going to Princeton to wrestle which is pretty big for a LA kid. I just think he can be beaten, and I think Roman is the only one in the state capable of doing it.
I thought Levee from Mandeville and Pinero from last year's class of seniors were better wrestlers (from a technical standpoint) than Gibbons is. The kid is damn good, but he's big on the intimidation game and a lot of his opponets fall for it constantly.

Yes, 2010 & 08. Got lucky in 2010, Jesuit blew that one. Great program though and the only BR team who can actually compete with BM, Jesuit, & Rummel on a yearly basis. They do well in team scoring, just don't normally proud a lot of individual state champs.

Should be an epic matchup. Wish there was a way to watch it online.

I think it was either 09 or 2010, but I remember nola.com had the finals matches online (might've been both years actually). I was really hoping they'd do it again this year since it was back in Kenner b/c I wasn't able to attend due to work.

It is now official. The trophy is back on Elysian Fields!
Now Roman needs to take care of business and finish on top.

Unreal what Robbie can do in such a short time.

What was the reason he left originally? Wanted to coach at a higher level?
