I'd rather an owner speak out and be honest about his faults than bite his tongue and act like he's the perfect citizen. There is absolutely nothing wrong with what he said.

A black guy wearing a hoody and a white guy tatted from head to toe are not comparable at all.

My guess is Cuban wants out, and he will go out guns ablazing. Cuban is taking a shot at NBA with this latest comments and is paying to investigate refs. He's about to cash in from a league he doesn't see eye to eye with particularly with the way all those trades were orchestrated by Stern

He basically said certain types of people look (profiling) look tough, or shady.... to him. In not so many words.
I mean.... if you're walking somewhere and it's late at night and dark, what types of people would you look at and feel the need to be cautious?
Nothing to see here.

When I heard it earlier on the radio all they were talking about was the hoodie aspect. Almost no mention of skinheads.

What Cuban said is his opinion.
Never been a fan of his, but kudos to him for speaking honestly.
We all have prejudices and preconceived notions. That's basically what he said. If you disagree, that's ok, but I think most, if not all of us, do.

What Cuban should have said was if there was an NBA player on one side of the street and an NFL player on the other side of the street, He'd walk on the side with the NBA player every night of the week.

Years ago, Jesse Jackson basically said it pained him to say so, but in that situation, he would be relieved to see a white person. Hasn't hurt him any, soooo.....

quote:Who wouldn't? That's not being racist, it's called having basic street smarts.
He said he would walk to the other side of street late at night if a black kid in a hoodie was approaching, but covered himself by adding he would do the same thing if he crossed a white dude with tattoos.

What about a white guy wearing a hoody?

One is trashy, permanently at that.
If the black guy took the hoody off, does he still pose a threat?

Wilbon said he basically had no issue with it but could have done without the imagery that he used (hoodie, ink, etc). Wtf? So he should have just said black man in general? Because that would have been great.
