Mariota is injured.
Mett is all they have. We LSU fans have seen him in action. Feet of stone. Pretty good if you give him time. Glad he is making a buck. I hope he is buying T-bills.
and Harry Douglas is 1,000 years old so Mett should not expect him to be a jet nowadays.

Good god some of you people have zero patience towards professional players.. Let's see.. Mettenberger as a rookie beforehe was hurt had a QB rating of near 85 and with a horrendous offensive line.. He is the backup on a team that retooled its offense as meek as it is to fit a more mobile athletic qb and decided to keep a pure pocket passer as the backup.. He's been inconsistent this year but not horrible overall by any stretch.. none of that means he would be a world beater but there are plenty of worse quarterbacks starting around the league today.

There are others I feel hes comparable with if given a true shot to own the position with a average offensive line.
Doesnt mean he'd end up better than those or any others but He has shown flashes of quality play. He has a near 65% completion period in the games hes played. He looked bad yesterday but good the week prior.

Honestly, the team would be a lot better off had you guys drafted Amari Cooper last year. Mariota isn't that much better. 27/51 for 252 yards with 1 TD and 1 pick does not an awful QB make.

Mett needs to be somewhere that is a better fit...and that includes a better roster.
For instance, behind the Cowboys line, Mett could have done no worse than the carousel this year.
