I want my celebrity's to do what they got famous for doing, i don't want to hear about your political views or make "statements" that are completely pointless. You want to help? Go visit a sick kid in the hospital who is a huge fan. Give some money to a family in need in your city.

You took a picture 2 weeks after the issue because geraldo turned this into an even bigger race issue.

Awareness of what? Its blasted over every fricking news station, hence WHY they took the picture. We are already aware of whats going on.

Nobody without a cable tv show should be able to comment on anything going on in the world... because they're so much smarter than us!!!

Everybody should just shut the frick up and not express any opinions or take any stands!!!

I can't believe these guys even watch the news. They should be practicing jump shots. I bet thats what Jordan would be doing!!!

Again, it wasn't pointless.

Yea, i'm sure absolutely no one will be made aware of it from this.

Not one person. I mean, really?

I'm glad someone else other than me pointed this out. I'd just get blasted if I did so.

Everyone?

Again, you're going to honestly try and tell me that everyone knows about it and not one single person or group of people will be made aware of it from this???

Or maybe they're vaguely aware and a big NBA fan or Heat fan or Lebron fan or Wade fan, so this makes that group of people become more educated on this issue.

Come on man.

This sort of thing just bugs me because people get all bent out of shape and do stuff like take pictures like this, then two weeks later no one cares. Its just the latest news story blown up by the news media and will get bickered about for a couple weeks cause its race related.

My take is that doing something is better than doing nothing.

And if i'm not doing a damn thing in this or any other instance, which I'm not, then who the hell am I to tell someone that they shouldn't be supporting a cause and trying to do something good?

This is a ridiculously stupid comment. Yes, everyone knows about cancer, but you can still raise awareness of it because the majority of people rarely think about it until it actually affects their lives in some direct way. The raising of cancer awareness is to get these people thinking about and hopefully doing something about it in some small way, instead of just waiting until it actually affects their lives.

As for the Martin case, not everyone knows about it. There are millions of people that never watch the news. There are millions of people in the US who have no idea that this occurred, especially in the young community (since they're more likely to not watch the news). Young people are also more likely to be on twitter. If only one person found out about it by following LeBron or the Heat, then yes it raised awareness.

Now maybe no one learned about it through this channel then fine. It happens, but why are we sitting here being upset over an athlete/organization that felt the need to show support for the family and the real issue at hand "shooting a black kid for wearing a hoodie."

Is this some kind of monumental gesture by the Heat? No, but why does it affect your life in such a negative way that you feel the need to come onto a message board to say how pointless it is? I'll never understand people like you.

I've never understood this pov. It's almost like people are jealous of rich and famous people for being rich and famous, so they demand celebrities not exercise their rights, or have viewpoints.

We don't know the whole story with OJ, but it didn't stop everyone from saying he's guilty.

Surprisingly, quite a few also felt OJ was innocent....

If OJ didn't do it, you would think there would have been at least one other suspect over the years!!
